Amelie stood in the ALDC beside Lilly, Kenzie against the wall. These were their places at this point.

"Alright, pyramid," Abby faced it. "At the bottom, our newest member Maesi. Welcome her and her mother, Jamie!"

Everyone clapped politely as they took their spots.

If Abby handpicked you across the Nation...you were special. Amelie was proud to be one of those girls, and she hoped Maesi would be, too.

"Next, Elliana," Abby revealed. "You forgot the lift. Unacceptable."

Ellie nodded at her place.

"Next, Kendall. I've been telling you to use your face...and you didn't."

Amelie frowned. That wasn't true.

"Next, Nia. You were fine but blended in."

"She did not!" Holly protested.

"You're saying that because you're her mother."

Holly went quiet, but Kenzie leaned over. "I thought Nia was amazing, couldn't keep my eyes off her."

"Moving up, Brynn. I thought you were exquisite."

"Next, Camryn. You were amazing and you saved the lift, good job."

"Next, Lilly and Amelie, our winning duet," Abby revealed. The girls high fived.

"And finally, Kalani!"

The girls clapped for her.

"The group dance this week is hip-hop," Abby stated and Amelie's eyes widened. She'd practised hip-hop before but she'd always fallen over and hurt herself. "I have two trios. One is Brynn, Kendall and Kalani. The second, Lilliana, Elliana and Maesi-"

"What about Amelie?" Stacey asked, gesturing to her.

"In Amelie's contract it states she isn't the best at hip-hop, so I want her to get as much practise possible," Abby told Stacey. "That way, she'll be fine."

However, Amelie was not fine.

They began the practise for the group and she was going well until a really fast-paced part where she jumped, and was supposed to go into more moves. But with her lack of strength in the category she slipped and landed bad on her ankle.

She gasped and sat down, refusing the tears in her eyes to fall.

"Amelie!" Lilly gasped, running to her side. The group stopped dancing and all went over, creating a circle around the girl.

"Ams," Sam got her attention. "Can you move it?"

She tried but ended up shaking her head. "It hurts. Really bad."

"Do you want us to get her outside?" Nia called to Abby, who nodded slowly. "Alright, Amelie, Kalani and I are going to lift you up. Leah on us so we can get you outside."

Amelie nodded, still trying not to cry. The two lifted her and helped her get outside. Lilly ran out and yelled for Kenzie.

"Oh, baby," Kenzie sighed. "What happened?"

"She fell on her ankle bad," Lilly explained.

"We think she sprained it," Kalani added.

"Put ice on it," Nia finished. "And maybe take her to the doctors after rehearsal, we think Abby will need you here."

Amelie did indeed sprain her ankle, and was out of dance until next week. She came to the studio next week limping extremely.

"Oh, hello sweetheart," Abby smiled kindly at the girl. "I heard you're out."

Amelie nodded, tears springing. "I'm sorry."

"Oh honey, don't be sorry," Abby told her. "We set up a seat in the rehearsal room so you can see and sit with Sam."

The child smiled softly, nodding. "Thank you, Miss Abby."

"Of course, head inside to the den."

Amelie pushed the door open and was immediately fussed over. Kendall ushered her to a chair and Lilly gave her a huge hug, asking how she was.

"I'm...sore," the girl began. "And out of dance for the week."

"Oh, Amelie," Brynn hugged her. "I'm so sorry."

"It's alright," Amelie shrugged sadly. "I'll be there next week."

Competition day arrived and Amelie sat in the crowd with Sam, her good leg pulled up underneath her. She still felt terrible.

"Hey, don't be bummed out," Sam told her softly. "What did Lilly tell you yesterday?"

"Hip-hop never places that well anyway," Amelie murmured, smiling a little.

"Abby isn't mad at you," Colby added, leaning over to talk to the injured dancer. "No one is. You're fine, Amelie."

She nodded and was now smiling properly.

"Welcome entry number 40, Birds Whisper!"

Amelie cheered loudly for the three girls, she loved the dance.

"Welcome entry number 60, Blackbirds!"

Amelie was in awe, the dance was beautiful and easily one of the best of the ALDC, ever.

"Next, welcome Notorious ALDC!"

"She forgot a part," Amelie breathed in worry. Maesi would be stressing and she knew it. "Oh no...poor Maesi."

Luckily for the ALDC, the trios won in their division.

"In third, Notorious ALDC!"

Amelie gasped. She didn't expect that. And now she knew Maesi's fate, based off the look on the dance teacher's face.

Maesi was cut.

But she wasn't. Yolanda had offered her Elliana's spot on the team, but luckily, Ellie wasn't cut either. All of the girls yelled at Yolanda for it - of course, including Amelie, how could she?

The girl was just glad she got to keep the girls.
