"Minis, you will not be dancing as a group this weekend."
Amelie's smile faded at the announcement. The group dance may've won but it was a mess, now they were being punished.
She didn't listen to the junior elite pyramid, movement outside catching her attention. Gianna was talking to someone she couldn't see. She tried leaning her head out but it didn't work out for her as she almost fell forward.
"Now onto the mini pyramid," Amelie snapped her head back to Abby to listen. "First, Lilliana. You were third.
"Next, Elliana. You forgot your duet. There will be no forgetting the choreography or there will be no choreography at all.
"Next, I have Alexus-"
"Why is she always at the bottom?" Tiffanie complained.
"Because she's not flexible and needs to work on it!" Abby yelled back. "Next I have Arena. You were great in the group and didn't have an extra dance. Next, Peyton-"
"Yay you're not at the bottom!" Kerri squealed.
"And finally, Amelie!" Abby smiled. "Amelie, you danced above your age, and got a perfect score! You pulled my eyes in the group. You did it, you did it, you did it! I'm very proud of you."

"Now, as promised, I'm giving the duet winners a solo.
"Kendall, yours is titled Cold and Clear. It's contemporary."
Amelie clapped for her duet partner, waving at her. Kendall waved back with a smile.
"I have two other elite solos, Kalani and Jojo. Kalani, yours is titled On the Edge of My Seat, it's musical theatre. And Jojo, yours is a jazz piece titled Ferocious."
Everyone clapped for them, and Jess, Jill and Kira looked quite content with the announcement. But Jill was obviously the most happy, with her wide creepy smile.
"Amelie, yours is called North and lyrical. Your lyrical dancing is beautiful. Will it beat the others? Let's see."
The girl nodded, accepting her solo.
"Alright, our elite group is based off a popular video game. The dance is called Mind Craft."
The elites cheered at the announcement, they played Minecraft on the bus a lot.
"Alright, minis you're dismissed, I'm starting with the group dance."
So far, the Sinclair's fourth week at the ALDC was a huge success. The past three episodes had earned Amelie a lot of exposure, and a local agency called Star Talent snatched her up before anyone could get to her.
As she rehearsed her solo in the studio, Kenzie could hear the mini moms whispering about Amelie's three-week streak at the top.
"She's the new Maddie," Yolanda complained. "It's stupid!"
"It's not like she wants to be," Kenzie murmured to Holly. "She likes compliments but constantly being at the top? She wants it to be fair."
"Yeah," Holly placed a hand on Kenzie's shoulder. "Amelie's great, but I know she'll get burned out."
Amelie then came out to take a drink, a slight smile on her face. "That was good! Kalani, it's your turn."
The girl sat next to Lilly and Ellie, oblivious to Yolanda and Tiffanie's glares at her back of her blonde head.
"Your solo is so pretty!" Lilly sighed dramatically, lying down on Amelie's lap. "I want a solo like that."
"What about your solo Wildflowers?" Ellie asked, "it was so pretty. I loved the costume!"
"Oh yeah!" Lilly smiled. "I think I still have it. Tomorrow I can bring it, you want to try it on?"
"I'd love to!"
"Have you seen your costume yet, Amelie?" Ellie turned her attention to the dancer.
"Not yet, but I am excited to."
The day of the competition came and Amelie sat in the dressing room, giggling as Kendall helped with her hair. Kenzie was outside discussing something with the producers.
"Soloists come here please!"
Amelie, Kendall, Kalani and Jojo went over to Abby, who looked over them and had them each rehearse.
The youngest of the lot was last, and Abby stopped her. "Amelie, you're my only mini solo. I expect nothing except a win. Especially from you."
Amelie bit her lip and nodded. She couldn't let Abby down, she couldn't...she wouldn't.
"Now, head backstage."
"Welcome entry number 78, Mind Craft!"
Amelie was shocked by the older girl's again, their control and skill was on another level. She wanted to be like them.
"Welcome entry number 18, Amelie with North!"
Kendall ended up placing 7th and Kalani got 4th, Jojo didn't even place. Amelie sat in her seat, nervous for the mini solos. If she didn't win, it would be hell for both teams next week.
"Now onto mini solos.
"In third, Rosie with Fly!
"In second, Allison with Older Sister!
"And our highest scoring solo of the day, goes to number 18, Amelie with North!"
Amelie jumped up to accept the award and took a bow. She did it again!
