Amelie stood in the row of dancers at the ALDC, glad to be back in action. She'd missed dancing.
"At the bottom of the pyramid, Amelie. You didn't dance, but that's not your fault," Abby revealed Amelie's headshot. "You sprained your ankle when you fell." Amelie nodded. "Next, Maesi. We had a streak and it was lost because you forgot the dance."
Maesi nodded in understanding.
"Next, Nia. You leave on Wednesday to take acting. You need to understand not only do you fall behind, others fall ahead. Moving on, Camryn. No issue. Next, Lilly. I saw you whisper, but did you move your mouth big enough? Nope. Next, Elliana. Your mother gave up your spot. Let's hope she doesn't do it again. Next, Kendall. You did great. And on top of the pyramid, Brynn!"
Amelie squealed and hugged Brynn.
"Brynn was doing the different choreography and she nailed it!"
"This week we are attending Dream Dance Challenge in Paranorma, California. I have three solos. Maesi, I'm not sure what to do with you. You're not a group dancer, maybe you're a soloist. The title of your routine is Encore."
"My next solo goes to Camryn, you are an endangered species. I want to see the ferocious dancer I saw in Atlanta."
"Nia, you have a solo titled Getting Away With Murder. It is based off the tv show How To Get Away with Murder. It is very much a Maddie solo. Brynn has won, Kendall has won, Kalani has won. In fact, even Amelie has won with a Maddie solo."
"The group is titled Clowning Around, a serious topic. Around the country clowns are threatening people, mobile accidents are occurring due to the fear of seeing them, and one clown has even attacked people. Brynn and Amelie, you will be the leads. I want to see acting."
"Girls, this is the road to Nationals. I'm preparing to take us to the East Coast for Nationals. We need to win."

Abby began to teach the choreography. Amelie enjoyed it, as she and Brynn were able to showcase their dancing.
In the middle of the rehearsal, a clown walked past the ALDC and stopped in front of the glass window. Kira noticed it first and screamed, causing screams from the other startled mothers.
The dancers inside stopped and looked. Amelie screamed as well and ran to Sam, hiding herself in his arms. He and Colby shared wide eyes, as Lilly was hugging the other of the duo.
