Have you ever met a friend or a family member after not seeing them for a lot of time. Either they lived abroad, traveled or went missing, you probably have. This is why most of you will understand Violet's feelings when she saw the apartment door swing open, and the person behind it.

"Quigley!" shouted Violet, really happy to see him. It has been more than a year since they last saw each other.

Quigley hugged Violet. He has missed her a lot during the past year. He didn't know if she was alive. Yet, after all she was there, at the door of their apartment. He realized that nothing can make him as happy as seeing Violet. Finally, they stopped hugging and Quigley turned to Klaus.

"My friend, I missed you," said Quigley while shaking his hand. Both were smiling. "Well what are you waiting for? Come inside!"

Violet and Klaus entered the penthouse. It was huge, it had two floors. The living room had a big and comfy looking couch with a big TV in front of it. Everything in the living room was white and looked expensive. In some way, it reminded them of Esme's house.

One wall was almost entirely made from windows. The type that went from the floor to the ceiling. The balcony was also huge, even featuring sun loungers. It was really spacious, but they couldn't see much since it was already dark outside.

The kitchen matched the style of the living room, with all furniture being white. It had an island desk with lamps on top of it. They were the only lamps that were turned on, so it illuminated the kitchen table really nicely.

"Violet, Klaus!"

The Baudelaire's turned around and saw Isadora and Duncan coming down from the stairs. Isadora immediately ran to Klaus to hug him. Violet smiled at them, until she saw Duncan coming her way.

Over the past year, Duncan got over his crush on Violet, realizing that it was just a small crush, and nothing really serious. So now he just considered her his friend. Quigley has talked a lot about Violet, so it didn't take long for Isadora and Duncan that Quigley didn't just have a small crush. They knew it was something more serious.

Violet looked at Duncan and Quigley, and than pointed at Klaus and Isadora with raised eyebrows. They were still hugging. Quigley shook his head confirming her suspicions. Finally, Klaus and Isadora stopped hugging.

"I think it is best we show just show you your rooms and go to sleep. It is pretty late, and we can talk tomorrow," said Isadora.

They went up to the second floor. Isadora explained that they have 5 equal rooms in total, so this is perfect for them.

"Do the doors lock?" randomly asked Violet.

"Yeah, why?" Isadora looked at Violet, smirking.

"No reason" she answered innocently.

Klaus and Violet put all of their stuff in their respective rooms and went to sleep. They arrived at Briny Beach at 9:30 pm so it 11 pm when they settled in. Since they used to go to sleep with the sun, they felt really sleepy.

--------------------------------------------------------

Violet was the first one to wake up. She looked around the room and remembered everything that happened to them and where they are. She stood up and left her room to go and wake up Klaus.

She entered his room. Surprisingly he was awake. She thought that he would be sleeping since they normally woke up later.

"Good morning Klaus. Why did you wake up already?" asked Violet.

"I actually was asleep less then a minute ago. But for some reason I woke up right now. It's strange, we used to wake up later," Klaus was as confused as she.

They walked down the stairs and decided to drink some water. The kitchen looked completely different under the sunlight. It looked whiter, cleaner and better overall. The sunlight was entering through the windows, filling up the entire living room and kitchen.

Violet and Klaus entered the balcony. They had a view of the city far away. In another direction they saw the Village of Fowl Devotees. They didn't realize at the time, but it was an abbreviation for VFD. They didn't discover if it had any relation  to the organization.

Suddenly, the Baudelaire's heard noises from the living room. They turned around just to see the Quagmire's descending from their bedrooms. Violet saw Quigley and smiled. Her heart melted when he smiled back.

Meanwhile, Klaus and Isadora were also exchanging smiles. The Quagmire's walked onto the balcony.

"Good morning!" said Quigley still looking at Violet.

Isadora ran over to Klaus and hugged him, since she didn't have a chance to do it last night. Quigley copied her actions, and went to hug Violet. Duncan was watching them happily. He didn't like Violet for a long time. He realized that it was just a small crush. However, when he heard Quigley describing Violet all the time, he realized it was something more.

"Do you have a coffee machine by any chance?" asked Violet.

"Yeah, over here" Quigley lead the way.

When Violet and Quigley returned to the balcony, Klaus, Isadora and Duncan were already talking about something. Violet sat down on the opposite side of the table as Klaus. Quigley sat down next to her.

"So, tell us everything about the last year" exclaimed Isadora, impatiently.

Violet began explaining their story in detail. From the attack on their submarine by count Olaf, to leaving the island. The quagmire's were listening carefully, absorbing every detail. When the Baudelaire's finished, they gave their opinions.

"Well, it's definitely more action-packed than our adventures," said Quigley.

"On that topic, how have all of you been?" asked Klaus, eagerly waiting for their side of the story.

Quigley explained that after he fell on the Stricken Stream, he walked to a mountain and saw a Self-Sustaining Hot Air Mobile Home. He was very surprised to see it descending to him, and even more surprised to see both of his siblings on there. Everything else was pretty plain, except for the fact that they had become friends with Carmelita.

Violet frowned at that statement. Quigley noticed that and explained the situation more. Apparently, Carmelita was abandoned by Esmé, and after that she completely changed. She was not a bully anymore, on the contrary she tried to be the best person possible. She hoped that this way she could at least partially compensate for all the things that she has done.

Violet didn't quiet believe him, but she decided to not think about it for now. Even if it was true, she wasn't ready to forgive her yet.

Suddenly, Quigley remembered something.

"Violet, Klaus, I think it would be a good idea to go shopping," exclaimed Quigley "I imagine you don't have a lot of clothes. And I'm sure that none of you have phones!"
