When Stars Align

Chapter 22

"Good morning, darling" Jamie sleepily says as she cuddles into me.

I move closer into her and hum into the feeling. Having her body pressed so firmly onto mine will never get old. Her soft skin feels so good against mine and it never fails to make my brain turn into jelly.

Last night was truly perfection. Having her all to myself was exactly what I needed. We relaxed and talked all night. The dinner that Jamie made for us was delicious, she is so talented. We cuddled and watched tv before having a bubble bath together. The bath was short lived, given that Jamie and I can't seem to keep our hands to ourselves once we are naked near each other, so we spent the rest of our night wrapped up in bed together, and I fell asleep in her arms, completely at peace.

"Good morning" I lazily say while cuddling back into her.

I run my hand lightly up and down her back, admiring her soft skin.

Im so happy here, I dimly think. It will be so hard not being able to have this whenever I want if I move to the city. I want my career dreams to come true, but I also want my romantic dreams to come true as well.

If Jamie loves me as much as she says she does, she should be okay with waiting for me to come back, right? A few months shouldn't be a big deal. Plus, I can always come home on the weekends. I would do anything to use my free time to spend it with Jamie, and I'm sure she would do the same.

"What is running through that pretty brain of yours?" Jamie asks while kissing the top of my head and squeezing me closer.

I melt into the feeling, wanting nothing more than to somehow get impossibly closer to her.

"Just about how much I love you and how amazing this feels" I say, which is true, I just want to have the conversation about me moving after I have some caffeine in my system.

"Mmm," Jamie hums "this is pretty great"

She lets out a soft giggle before rolling me over and sillily kissing me all over my cheeks and neck, making me laugh.

"Coffee?" She says while pulling back to look in my eyes.

Seeing her holding herself above me like this hits me right in the heart. She is absolutely beautiful.  Everything about Jamie is perfection, I have never seen a prettier person in my life. I can't believe I'm lucky enough to get to be with this person. Get to kiss her, to touch her. To just- look at her.

"Yes please" I say, before giving her an all too quick kiss on the lips.

I feel the crunch of the snow under my boots as Jamie and I walk through the forest.

After we had breakfast and Jamie fed the animals, we decided it was the perfect morning for a walk.

We continue through the trees, hand in hand, in a comfortable silence, just taking in the peaceful morning.

Even with the tranquil environment, I can't seem to stop thinking about the conversation I need to have with Jamie.

As we walk over to a set of chairs overlooking the scenery, Jamie brushes off the snow that's collected on them, as I break out the thermos of hot coffee.

I pour us both a cup and we take in the view in silence. I hear Jamie peacefully sigh as she picks up my gloved hand and squeezes.

"This is beautiful" I say quietly.

"You're beautiful" Jamie says with wonder in her voice.

"And you're cheesy" I say with a giggle as I shake my head.
