The evening had settled into a quiet routine at the Forger residence. Kira sat at the dining table, her fingers nervously drumming on the wooden surface. Loid and Anya were finishing their dinner, unaware of the conversation that was about to shift their evening.

Taking a deep breath, Kira glanced at her husband, who was absorbed in his meal. Typically composed and unflappable, Loid's usual calm was accompanied tonight by a subtle, curious glint in his eyes.

"Loid," Kira began, her voice steady but tinged with apprehension. "I need to discuss something important with you and Anya."

Loid placed his chopsticks down, his eyes focusing intently on Kira. 'What could be so urgent?' he thought, trying to gauge the significance of her tone. "What's it about?"

Anya, who could sense the change in mood and picked up on her mother's anxiety, looked up with wide, curious eyes. 'Mama's thinking something big. I hope it's not bad,' she thought, her tiny face reflecting concern. "What's wrong, Mama?"

Kira offered a reassuring smile to her daughter before turning back to Loid. "I've been offered a new position. It's a teaching job at Kunugigaoka Junior High School."

Loid's eyebrows knitted together in thought. 'Kunugigaoka? That's quite a prestigious school, and it's known for having some... unusual elements.' He glanced at Kira, his mind already racing through the implications. "A teaching job? That's quite a change. Why Kunugigaoka?"

"It's a unique opportunity," Kira explained carefully. "The role involves specific responsibilities that require me to be closer to the school. I wanted to discuss this with you before making any decisions."

Loid's concern deepened. 'Closer to the school? Does this mean we might have to relocate?' His thoughts were interrupted by Anya's voice.

"Are we moving, Mama? I don't want to leave my friends!" Anya's mind voiced her fathers thoughts out-loud.

Kira knelt beside Anya, brushing a strand of pink hair from her face. "I know it's a lot to take in, sweetheart. You won't have to change schools; we'll find a place close to your current school. I promise to make sure it's comfortable for all of us."

Anya's thoughts shifted to relief as she processed her mother's words, then a mischievous thought appears. 'Operation strix is still happening!'

Loid's thoughts were a whirlwind of strategic calculations and concerns. 'We'll need to ensure the new location doesn't compromise any ongoing operations or security. And the reasons behind this job change... I'll need to look into it further.'

Loid's mind continued to race through the logistics and implications of the move. 'I need to find a suitable place that balances Kira's new responsibilities with our family needs—and without disrupting the mission'. He looked at Kira, his expression softening despite the whirlwind of thoughts. "Alright. If this move is essential for your job, I'll handle the search for a new place. We need to ensure it's convenient and secure for all of us."

Kira's heart swelled with gratitude at Loid's proactive response. "Thank you, Loid. I appreciate it. I'll keep you updated on any new developments."

The room fell into a contemplative silence as the family began to process the changes ahead.

The evening had settled into a quiet rhythm at the Forger residence, but Loid Forger was anything but relaxed. The transition to their new home was nearly complete, yet his mind remained occupied with Kira's new job. Late into the night, he found himself poring over documents gathered by Franky on Kunugigaoka Junior High School.

Seated at his desk, Loid sifted through various papers and came across a list of students enrolled in Kira's class. His eyes scanned the names until one in particular halted his progress.

The name struck him with a sense of recognition, and he paused, his mind racing. 'Could this be the reason Kira is so invested in this position?'

Loid leaned back in his chair, reviewing his observations. Kira's sudden interest in a job at Kunugigaoka, her insistence on relocating closer to the school—everything now seemed to fall into place.

He connected the dots. Kira's intense focus on her new role and the urgency she had shown in making the move made sense now.

As he closed the file and prepared to join his family for the evening, Loid was convinced he had identified the underlying motive behind Kira's new role, even if the full story remained hidden for now.

hope you enjoyed chapter 1 of mission!!

Just a quick note for those curious: Kira in this story is basically Yor from spy x family. She meets Loid in a similar fashion, but Yuri doesn't exist in this version of the story. I decided to leave him out because, while his role in the SSS is intriguing, his personality didn't quite fit the direction I wanted for this fanfic. It's my take on the story, and I hope you enjoy it! sorry to dissapoint & thank you for understanding <33 I'd appreciate any votes or comments you have—your feedback means a lot! Thanks for reading!
