uncle
"Anya? What flavor of ice cream do you want?" Kira's heart skipped a beat as she turned to look at her daughter. Her eyes widened in horror as she saw the play area empty. "Anya!" she screamed, her voice cracking with panic.
Karma's gaze sharpened as he scanned the surroundings. "Stay calm. She probably just got lost while playing, we need to find her."
Kira and Karma moved with frantic urgency, their earlier casual demeanor was quickly replaced by sheer desperation. They rushed through the park, their breaths coming in ragged gasps as they called out for Anya, their voices cutting through the evening air.
Karma spotted a small, black shoe on the ground near the edge of the park and picked it up. "This must be hers. We're on the right track."
Kira's eyes filled with tears as she grabbed the shoe, clutching it tightly. "They must have taken her. But why? Who would do this?"
Karma's expression was grim. "We need to check the nearby alleys and less crowded streets."The two of them split up briefly. Karma soon spotted a shadowy figure darting into a narrow alley behind the park. He sprinted after them, closing in on the kidnapper in a dimly lit corner of the alley.
The kidnapper, a tall man in a dark coat and hat, was trying to make a hasty escape. Karma tackled him to the ground, his fists landing with controlled force. The alley echoed with the sound of their struggle as Karma delivered a series of precise, punishing blows, each one fueled by his fury.
The kidnapper tried to fight back, but Karma's superior strength and skill soon had him pinned. "You're not getting away!" Karma growled, his voice filled with determination. The man's resistance weakened, and he eventually slumped, defeated. Karma stood over him, catching his breath. "Who sent you? Why take a child?"
The kidnapper, gasping for air, glared up at Karma. "I just saw her Eden uniform and thought I could get some cash! I didn't know she was so important!"
Karma's expression was cold. "I'm calling the police."
Just then, Kira arrived, her face a mixture of worry and relief. "Karma, is she okay?"Karma looked up, his expression softening. "Anya is safe. I've got the kidnapper here. We need to call the authorities."
Kira nodded, rushing over. "Thank you, Karma. I don't know what we would have done without you."
As the police arrived and took the kidnapper into custody, Kira held Anya close, her gratitude clear. Karma, still catching his breath, noticed the kidnapper's discomfort.
As he cleaned his hands, Karma couldn't help but smirk. "By the way, if you're wondering why he's squirming so much, I gave him a little extra surprise. Nothing like a bit of wasabi to finish off a job well done."
Kira raised an eyebrow, her lips curling into a relieved smile as she giggled softly. "You're something else, Karma. But thank you. Let's get Anya home."
Anya admired Karma 'my uncle is so cool!'
➤
As Kira tucked Anya into bed, Karma stood by the door, his expression a mix of relief and contentment. Anya looked up at him with a bright smile, her eyes full of admiration.
"Goodnight, Uncle Karma," Anya said cheerfully.
Karma sighed, glaring at the girl playfully. "Anya, I've told you before. You don't have to call me 'uncle.' Just Karma is fine."
Anya nodded seriously. "Okay, Uncle Karma."
Karma tried to stifle a smile, shaking his head slightly. "Just Karma."
Kira laughed softly as she was sitting on Anya's bed, watching the exchange with amusement. "Seems like you've made quite an impression, Karma."
As Kira finished up with Anya's bedtime routine, she glanced back at Karma, who was trying to look stern but was clearly amused. "I guess she really looks up to you now, Karma."
Karma smiled, his expression softening as he looked at Anya. "I can see that. But you know, I'd prefer just being called Karma."
"Okay, Uncle Karma!!" Anya yelled from the room, her tone full of innocence and giggled.
Karma sighed, but his eyes twinkled with amusement. "Anya, come on, stop it."
Anya giggled, snuggling deeper into her blankets. "But it's more fun to call you Uncle Karma!"
Karma raised an eyebrow but couldn't help but smile. "Alright, alright. If it makes you happy, I guess I'll let it slide."
Anya grinned, her eyes sparkling with delight. "Goodnight, Uncle Karma."
As Kira and Karma left the room, Kira looked over at Karma with a knowing smile. "Looks like you're stuck with the 'uncle' title for now." Karma shook his head with a chuckle. "I suppose I am. But seeing her happy makes it worth it."
Kira nodded, squeezing her arm gently. "Thank you again for everything tonight. It means a lot."
Karma's smile widened. "Anytime, Kira. And don't worry, I'll get used to the 'uncle' part."
