Kira sighed as she heard the final bell ring. She hadn't been able to teach today due to everything that had happened. Making her way toward the school's exit, her mind was still preoccupied with the intense conversation she'd had with Karma earlier.
She had planned to go home alone, hoping that talking to Anya about school might help her shake off the day's weight. A soft grin formed on her lips as she thought about the energetic pink-haired girl waiting for her at home. Anya always had so many stories about her adventures with her best friend at Eden Academy.
As Kira approached the front gates, she spotted two familiar figures waiting for someone. Loid leaned casually against the entrance, while Anya stood beside him, her eyes brimming with excitement.
Kira stopped in her tracks, surprised. "Loid? Anya? What are you doing here?"
Loid greeted her with a warm smile. "We thought we'd surprise you. Anya's been looking forward to seeing you."
Anya bounced up to her with a bright smile. "I wanted to see you and hear all about your day! Papa said we could pick you up!" Her thoughts raced with curiosity. Where's the cool creature? Did Mama assassinate him?
Kira smiled, touched by the gesture, completely unaware of Anya's mischievous reason for visiting. "That's so thoughtful. You shouldn't have gone to all this trouble."
