It was the F1 summer break, which meant you now had all the time in the world to spend with your boyfriend Logan. The first half of his sophomore year in F1 had ended well in Logan's eyes as he adapted to the upgrades of the Williams car. Despite his optimism as improvements, there were many rumors about what his future would look like. Two days after the break had begun, the two of you had just gotten into your Miami apartment when Logan received the news that he would be replaced next season.

"I'm not surprised, I feel like I've really known since Australia," he confided in you while you unpacked your bags in the living room.

For the rest of the day, he vented to you, and you decided to make an effort to get his mind off of F1. That night, you made arrangements to go a little further North to you family's vacation house in the woods. Well it was more like a yurt than a vacation house. In the late morning, you surprised Lgan with this mini trip over brunch.

"I promise there's wifi and a TV, but I wanna make it a rule for us not to be on our phones," you persuaded your boyfriend.

Though he liked the idea of the getaway, he was skeptical about the phone ban, "Are you really sure about that?"

"Absolutely, I pinky promise," you laughed at his hesitancy, holding out your pinky finger.

"Alright then," he smiled, giving into your convincing.

Before you knew it, you were on the road, behind the wheel for a two hour car ride. You knew the route to the yurt like the back of your hand, and you wanted to let Logan rest since he was more jetlagged and exhausted than you. For most of the trip, Logan was out like a light. It wasn't until you reached the desolate woods that you decided to wake him. The first road was very twisty, but nothing your Range Rover couldn't conquer. Approaching the small building in the forest, you rolled down the windows, a slight breeze moving throughout the car. The smell of pine lingered as you parked the vehicle right outside the property. When you turned the car off, Logan was eager to get out and stretch his legs.

The silence and serenity of the forest drowned out any noise from the highway, which was miles from the building. You unlocked the front door as Logan brought in your bags. You parents had stayed in the house a few days prior and left some good and drinks in the fridge. Logan walked around the yurt while you poured out some lemonade for the two of you. The floorboards creaked as Lgan made his way back into the main living area, a combination of a kitchen, dining room, and living room.

"This place is so serene, how come you've never taken me here before?"

"Just hasn't really crossed my mind," you handed him a glass and gently kisses his cheek. He deserved the world, and even though you couldn't give him that, you wanted to give him some peace of mind. Your thoughts were interrupted by your phone vibrating in your back pocket.

"Hey, you said no phones," Logan stated the obvious.

You quickly powered off your phone and slid it back into your pocket, "And I'll stick to my word,"

You spent the rest of your afternoon out on the deck that overlooked a scenery of trees and a small clearing where some mountains in the distance were visible. Sittin on the outdoor couch, you flipped through the pages of your book while Logan captured the surroundings on his camera. There was a calm rhythm to the shutters of the camera and the distant caws of birds in the trees. Then all of a sudden, the clicks stopped, and Logan set his camera down. He stood at the edge of the deck, leaning on the balcony.

"What's on your mind?" you set your book down, breaking the silence.

"Just stuff...a lot of stuff," he mumbled, watching a squirrel scamper down a tree.

Walking up beside him, yo rested your head on his shoulder. "When we grow old and grumpy, would you wanna live in a place like this?"

He wrapped his arm around your waist and gave your question some thought. "Honestly, I'd live anywhere as long as its with you," he gave you a small peck on the forehead. You scoffed quietly at his chumminess.

"It's true, I mean as long as there's you, air conditioning, a roof, and some wifi, I'm set." he turned to smile at you.

Though Logan had gotten good over the past couple of months at hiding his frustration around you, right now in this moment, he seemed at peace, which was all you could truly ask for.
