Breaking Free - Part III

5 years later...

A cute 3 year old boy is seen running around a huge mansion. A person in a police uniform is chasing behind the boy. As soon as the police officer comes close to the boy, the boy runs further away. The police officer finally stops and keeps his hand on the pillar, as he is out of breath.

Police officer - Oye Akshar, stop running away from me. I am too old to chase behind you everyday.

Akshar - Arre Dadu, you are not old. You are my young handsome Dadu.

A couple is coming down the stairs and are observing the banter between their son and his dadu.

Lady - He's a carbon copy of you. Ditto.

Man - Of Course, he has my good looks and my brains.

Lady - And he has a resting bitch face just like you Khadoosman.

Man - Abhira, I have told you so many times to not call me that. It irritates me.

Abhira - Oh really Armaan, does tickling you irritate you too?

Armaan - Don't you dare Abhira.

Abhira - Watch me, darling. [she starts tickling him and he runs away from her].

Madhav - Abhira and Armaan, what is this masti? Akshar is learning all this naughtiness from you two. You both are parents now, not kids anymore. Everything you do and say impacts your child. [scolding tone]

Abhira - Yes Papa! I was just pulling his leg.

Madhav - And I was pulling yours!

Abhira - I know that already, because my papa can never be upset at me.

Armaan [holding akshar] - Oh papa ki pari, your husband and son want a kiss from you now.

Abhira - Only my Akshu will get a kissy. Waise, when are Manu and Manu coming back. The house feels so empty without them.

Madhav - Beta, they will be back for the awards night. They are visiting Aryan and Kiara in London for the first time since those two have settled there.

Abhira - I miss those two!

Armaan - Me too!

Akshar - To mee! To mee!

Abhira - Me too Akshu, not to mee!

Akshar - Ha mumma, wahi wahi.

In five years, everything has changed back in Udaipur. Kaveri died three years ago due to a heart attack and Sanjay has been ruling the family and the business with his corrupt ways. They are not as rich as they used to be and they are barely making ends meet. Meanwhile, silence looms over the Goenka mansion as Ruhi resides there alone as Manish and Swarna died because of old age 4 years and two years ago respectively and Surekha has returned to her family in the USA as she couldn't deal with Ruhi being so desperate for a married man.

A few nights later...

It is the biggest night for the legal industry as it is the annual Indian legal awards night. All the top lawyers and firms are attending this event and A and A Legal along with its founders Armaan and Abhira have been nominated in various categories. Madhav and Manisha, along with Kiara, Aryan, Akshar are attending to support the firm and three of their family members who hold executive board titles in the firm. Abhira wins 3 awards (the highest by anyone ever), Armaan wins 1 and Manoj wins one. Finally, A and A legal wins an award for the best upcoming legal firm in India. Abhira and Armaan accept the award and Abhira starts her thank you speech.

Abhira - Thank you so much everyone! Thank you to the organizers for this wonderful recognition. I would not be here without a few people, who I have to mention. My husband, Armaan Poddar and my entire family, Kiara, Aryan, Manisha Ma and Manoj Pa and my son, Akshar. All these people are the reason I am here today, alive and well. And last but not the least I would like to thank the person who brought me to this world, my mumma Akshara Sharma, who's dream was for me to become a lawyer. I hope I have made you proud Mumma.

Everyone claps. The Poddars take a family picture in their all coordinated white outfits. This family photo is then sent to the press and the photo appears in the papers the next morning. Two people are very furious to read the article - Ruhi and Sanjay. Ruhi learns the truth of Abhira's parentage and grows furious. Abhira is the daughter of the same woman who took everything from her matashree and then took her matashree away from her. Abhira is just like her mom, she stole Armaan away from me, thinks Ruhi. In rage, Ruhi drives out of the Goenka mansion on the street. Not paying attention to the road, she ends up hitting a man while reversing. People surround her car and yell at her. Someone from the crowd tells her 'be happy that he is just bleeding and he didn't die. You could have cost him his life, you dumb rich girl'. This thought triggers a memory in Ruhi's mind. She suddenly has a vision of Matashree's accident and then realises that she was the one who really caused it. She is engulfed with guilt and goes into a spiral and starts reflecting on the horrible person she has become. She decides to change for the better. A few days later, as Ruhi is scrolling through bumble, Rohit's profile picture pops up. Ruhi without thinking much swipes right and is shocked to see that she has matched with her ex husband on a dating app. She smiles to herself, hopeful for a new beginning.
