"Welcome to your new Job, Mr. L/n."

The room was dark, you couldn't see what your boss looked like but you didn't mind.

You took up a new job as an assassin. You were very skilled with your job and you were hired immediately. Your first task was to eliminate a man and a woman. Until one day, your boss called you to his office to talk about something.

-"Mr. L/n. I'm happy to inform you that you're gonna be working with someone. She is a big fan of your work, you know."

Your eyes widened. You never once thought that someone wanted to work with you, nor did you expect your boss wanted you to have a partner and "socialize." No, you were an introvert and preferred to be away from humans as possible. You knew your boss knew this cause you explained it to him in the interview. But it seems like he wasn't considerate enough to fulfill your requests.

-"What? With all due respect, sir, didn't I tell you that I didn't want to work with a partner?"

-"Oh, I know your preferences but this girl really insisted that she wanted to be your partner and we couldn;t lose such a skilled assassin."

-"Really? Or maybe she just has a big a-"

-"Mr. L/n. Control what's coming out of your mouth please."

-"Excuse me."

-"Now then, please come in, Ms. kanroji."

She then opened the door and you saw a tall woman with pink and green hair tied in a braid. She looked like she was the type of girl you hated to be. She looked like she was loud and talkative which kind of gave you the wrong impression. When she stepped forward, you stepped back. You clearly didn;t like her even though you just met her.

"Oh! Hello there Mr. L/n! It's so nice to meet you! I'm a big fan and I always wanted to meet you in the flesh!" She then shook your hand aggressively. Damn..She was strong. "Uh...I guess?" You said, a bit hesitant. You didn't really want to have conversations with this girl. "Oh! My name is Mitsuri Kanroji and I look forward to being with you tonight on a mission!" She exclaimed in a friendly tone.

"Not really...I prefer working alone. I just accepted you because it was my Job. Now, if you'll excuse me." You then left there without saying anything, leaving her confused and sad. "Don' worry, ms kanroji. You're gonna get used to Y/n after a few missions. He's just like that. Cold and trying to be mysterious." He said, reassuring her. "Mmm Yeah! I'm sure me and Y/n will be close friends in the future!"

No, you knew you weren't gonna be close friends. Even if she was a fan of yours, there's no way you wanted to talk to a girl as bubbly and energetic as that. You hated the idea of making small talk in meetings and now you have to make more talk if you hang with this girl.

A few hours later, You met up with Mitsuri for the mission. You were quite hesitant and distant but you managed to survive her bubbly personality. You as an assassin wanted peace and quiet so you could think but all she did was tweet like a bird.

"So uh, Y/n san, is the target there or is he not...? You've been ignoring me for a while now..." Mitsuri asked while you sighed. You didn't want to answer her but you decided to so she could shut up. "No...the target isn't here yet. I need silence so please be quiet." You looked at her coldly which made her shake a little. "I'm sorry, Y/n san..." You were about to ask her to follow you but then you heard her scream. You rushed over to where the noise was and you saw her tied up in a chair.

You knew that sacrificing her was the only option but you couldn't just let her die since your boss will give you a painful scream cause he's a simp. So, you decided to save her anyway, even though it got you a few bruises and scratches. Mission solved...looks like they underestimated your skills as an assassin. After that, you placed Mitsuri down on the ground and gave her water.

"I'm sorry, Y/n, I felt like a complete obstacle for you. Maybe if I wasn't in this mission, you would've completed this mission faster..." She said while crying. "Yes...I didn't need anyone but the boss sent me you and please stop crying, it makes you look pathetic. I don't like it." You looked at her coldly while she nodded and wiped her tears. "Yes, Y/n...I understand..." You said sadly while you started to leave. "Come, I know you're not that injured so you can walk yourself." You said coldly while she nodded and followed you slowly.

Mitsuri POV:

I never knew Y/n would be this cold. I always idolised him since he was the reason why the murderer of my parents died. He assassinated them so he inspired me to become an assassin too. I really look up to Y/n and I want to become his girlfriend one day but it seems like he hates me and is very cold and distant. I believe that I'm annoying him even though I'm always trying to help him but it seems like he doesn't need me anyway.

"Kanroji san. Let's eat out tonight. My treat." You said while her eyes lit up. "Really, Y/n san?! You're not mad at me for messing things up?!" She asked while you looked away. "Enough of that...let's just eat. I'm feeling nice today..." You replied while looking for a table. You then sat down and asked Mitsuri to take her order. "Y/n, I'm a bit of a heavy eater and I might order a lo-"

-"It's fine. I don't really care what you order. Just eat."

-"really?! You really mean that?! But it might be expensive though!"

-"I don't mind. I get a lot of money from this job anyway. I'm a top assassin after all. So go on, I won't judge you or whatever you eat."

-"Is that so....? You're not as cold as I thought you were..."

-"......."

-"OH, I'M SORRY! LET'S EAT NOW, SHALL WE?"

The night ended well. You were finally learning how to socialize with people. Since she was a very social person. You were kinda regretting your choice to invite her to dinner but oh well, you can't turn back time now. You have to admit it was really fun talking to her even though sometimes she was annoying.

Well, little do you know...you were gaining some interest on that girl that you "didn't" like...
