Eternal Paradise Faith

Such a dramatic name, isn't it? A cult that promises you kindness and salvation, so that you won't ever feel the pain that you once had outside the place. That was the cult that my parents made for my older brother since he had these special rainbow colored eyes and pale white hair. They thought that it was a gift from the gods. But to me? I didn't see my brother as a god...I saw him as a friend and a kind big brother, that's all.

Some flashback:

"Big brot-" Y/n happily skipped towards his room but stopped when she saw her parents with him again. "Child, you should smile wider, what is wrong with you!" Their mother bickered. "Your mother is right, you have this whole cult to comfort! We can't have a god looking like someone died!" Their father scolded him in an annoyed manner.

"You're a special child! Way more special than your plain sister!"

"We built this cult just for you and this is how you repay us?"

Again...those words are the things that they throw to my big brother. It's cruel, I know...and the comparison is killing me inside. They always tell me or remind me that I'm not as special as my brother. Plus, I'm a girl, so they tend to see me as someone below my brother. They always think that my brother is some sort of god that can magically take their problems away, so I guess that's why they tend to take their anger out on him.

Once my parents left, I opened the door and saw Douma looking down, thinking about life. I didn't want to bother him, but at the same time I was bored, so....

"Brother?"

Douma looked to his right and saw you.

"Ah, Y/n! My beloved little sister! What brings you here today?" Then put on that fake smile that he usually does. "Harsh day today, isn't it, brother?" Y/n walked forward towards her brother. "It's always the same thing everyday...always scolding me for the same things." Douma's eyes faltered and looked down onto his tiny hands. "Don't worry, brother...You have me, remember? I'll always be here to comfort you..." Y/n hugged Douma tight and he hugged her bag. "And I'll always be here to protect you too, sister..."

He promised that...and I didn't think he would take it to the extreme.

It all started with that day.

Douma just finished entertaining the members of the cult. He was looking for Y/n but stumbled on his parents talking about her.

"Are you sure you want to give her away?" The mother asked his father. "Of course! Are you crazy, woman? That kid is nothing but a distraction to our boy!" His father whispered in an annoyed tone. "Well...now that you mentioned it...she does nothing in this house but makes our boy weaker!" The woman thought bitterly. "See? Our son gets distracted from his duties when she's near him! It's time that we sell her to a rich merchant so that we can have more money!"

Douma felt something in his chest. A feeling that he hasn't felt in his entire childhood.

Douma POV:

Sell her? No, that can't be happening...Y/n is too young to be married off. She's only a year younger than me...She's only 6 years old, barely a kid. I can't let that happen! She's my little sister and what would I do without her?
