~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
            I live in a small town where I worked as a herbalist to cure many people. It doesn't pay me much but I love to help people get better since my father died from an illness...and after that, I want to make sure that no families will experience the grief of losing their father because they weren't good enough.
Well, my job came in handy because I didn't expect to try and find medicine for my beloved. I didn't think that I would marry someone that...let's just say isn't human...yeah, I still can't believe that I fell in love with someone like him. He's so sweet but my problem is that he killed many people and that's what I'm not a fan of. Buttt, he did say that he was going to change and we can settle down and have a new life.
*Door opens*
"Ah, you're home, darling! I was waiting for you!"
*She settles the food down on the table.*
"Y/n, you know that I can't eat human food, why bother? It taste like rubbish." He stated while setting his sword down. "Well, darling~ this one is different. It's made with something special." Y/n stated with a smug expression, Kokushibo raised a brow. "Something special, you say? Well, I would like to know what that is." He sat down. Y/n pushed the food near him. "I guess, you'll find out what it is, Michkatsu."
*Take a bite of food.*
"Wait...it tastes normal...How...?"
"Herbs."
"I don't know what to say..."
He starts tearing up.
"It's been so long...I forgot what normal food taste like. It brings me back to when my bro...nevermind." He wiped his tears. Y/n sitting beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "I know...that's why I worked day and night, trying to get you that cure so that you can taste normal food after a long time! It was stressful but seeing your reaction right now, It's all worth it." Y/n hugged him and he hugged back, sobbing into her arms.
"Thank you, Y/n."
That smile was all it took. She loved seeing him smile. She loved that they can both live normally now but there was one thing that bothered her.
His dream
His dream of being stronger than his dear brother. The reason why he became a demon in the first place. His pride, his jealousy and originally, his dream to be the strongest samurai then to be the strongest demon slayer was all gone after he became a demon.
I'm not sure if this man is capable of giving up everything that he worked hard for. Not sure if he would...
*You pulled away from the hug.*
"Does this mean that you won't eat humans anymore?"
He froze.
"...."
"Michikatsu?"
"I'm not sure...I can limit myself but I can't fall off my rank as upper 1..."
You knew it.
Of course, his pride won't let him.
"Michikatsu, I think that doesn't really matter. What matters is us. Our relationship, right?"
He paused for a second, almost considering.
"It's not such a bad idea...but the original reason why I left my ex wife was because I wanted to be stronger than my brother."
She cupped his face and looked at him with sadness and with a pleading look.
"I already got this far...if I lose my title as upper rank, it'll be all in vain."
"Michikatsu...."
You looked at him with sad eyes.
"I'm sorry, I'll try to be the man that you deserve.
"I'm looking forward to that."
You lean in for a kiss, under the moonlight it seems. How ironic.
"I've never felt this way for anyone before...and I want to tell you all about my past." He said while holding her hand tightly. "I've never heard you talk that much about your past. I know your brother...but nothing else." She stated, Kokushibo sighing. "I never really talk about what happened...probably because of my pride and my selfishness. I know I wasn't a good brother to him. I know that and because of you I realize my actions." He said with sadness, Y/n patting his back. "I'm glad that I gave you the strength to realize your mistakes. I do hope that you will change and become a better person."
"Because of you, I know I will."
He caressed her cheek and pulled something out of his pocket.
A flute
But not just any flute..
A broken one
But it looks...there's some history behind it.
Not just a random broken flute.
"Mind explaining why you're looking at this flite like it holds all the painful memories?"
"Because it does."
Yn felt it. All the anger, sadness and guilt poured onto this item. A gust of wind blew past them. The tension was there. The sadness was there.
"My brother died....or should I say I killed him. When I killed him, this fell out of his pocket. The flute I gave him when we were children. He still kept it...even after everything I did to him." He looked at the flute with sadness, reminding him of the past. "I think your brother would forgive you even after all of this. If you choose to change your ways and embrace yourself instead of looking for ways to get stronger. Just look at yourself! You're the 2nd strongest demon to Muzan! You should be proud of yourself that most demons are afraid of you!" She said while holding his hand tight. "I suppose you're right...I think my jealousy has gotten the better of me...I need to start appreciating what I have instead of what I don't...that's the reason why I left my family anyways..."
"Instead of being envious, you should start being happy for your brother. Didn't he say you from a demon attack one time? Because of that, you're still alive."
"....."
He didn't say anything, he couldn't.
Because she was right.
He should've been
But instead, he tried to kill him.
"That's what I thought..."
"I'm sorry..."
"It's okay. Come here, I'll try helping you."
You hugged him, promising that you will help him be a better person or should I say demon? Anyways, Kokushibo and Y/n lived a happy life together and even had twins named Serene and Luna. Both mean the moon in Greek and Latin. Ironic, isn't it? The sun is always the main character and everything revolves around it in the universe but the moon is just using the sun's light to have its own light. I believe Michikatsu felt that way. Everyone needed his brother but no one really paid much attention to him...because his brother was his light. The light he needed but he decided to toss it away because he wanted to outshine him. Maybe...if they just worked things out more, the moon wouldn't try to outshine the sun.
Because the sun and moon are supposed to work together, not against each other.
I guess that's an important lesson Y/n made her husband realize.
They're the sun and moon
Twins even.
They complete each other
They're each other's other half.
