Chapter 14: A Sin

After a few minutes, I couldn't hear the loud voices anymore and that was making me feel anxious. What if they've sorted things out and will be back together?

As Marcus stepped in, he tossed his phone on the table and ran his hand through his hair and he looked at me.
I looked back at him with my tired eyes, he sighs softly and walks up to the bed and sits down beside me.

He caresses my cheeks and softly says "It's okay sweetheart, I won't mess up, you don't have to worry but..." I quickly searched for his eyes, "I want to give us some time..." He caresses my hand and I quickly remove them "but why?", my voice shakes.

"I'm - I'm sorry.... A lot of things are happening at the same time, and in order to stay together, I want you to cooperate with me for right now sweetheart. And I promise....I promise you that I won't do anything to hurt you, please baby" he pleads and my heart clenched.

"O...okay..." I took a deep breath and nod. He smiles at me. He was about to leave but when he saw that my lips were trembling a little while holding back my tears. He couldn't help but sat next to me and gave me a warm hug.
I then started sobbing softly, and hugged him back and buried my face in his chest.
"Please don't leave me again..... Please..." I pleaded. He holds me tight and whispers "I won't....". It was as if he was unsure about it. He wasn't determined yet and it somehow scared me.

The whole night, he hold me tight and close to him. Each hour felt like, it was our last moment again.
We both knew that tomorrow isn't going to be good. Something was off.
He says he loves me, and not his wife. But to think about it, he married her, because he loved her. Do you think, he's going to leave her for someone he just met few months before?
What if he's still in love with her?
What if tomorrow, when they meet after a long time, Marcus ends up changing his mind and give his love marriage a chance?
What if he still dreams to be a father of his kids?
This is scary. Each moment is eerie.

And yet I'm here..... In his arms, sleeping and cuddling him like it's our last.

Marcus, do you really love me or I'm just an option for you?
I hope you know that I'll be devastated if you leave me again.
