___________________________Maia's POV:
"Baby?" I murmured, my voice still thick with sleep as I furrowed my brows, trying to cling to the fleeting fragments of dreams. I squeezed my eyes shut tighter, hoping to recall the pictures that danced behind my eyelids before I woke.
"Bebé, wake up." A soft, gentle hand glided up my thigh, the touch familiar and comforting, pulling me slowly from the cocoon of sleep. I opened my eyes, and there he was—Justin—leaning over me, a tender smile on his lips as he pressed a warm kiss to my forehead. He tipped the Uber driver, his focus momentarily shifting from me, but the warmth of his presence lingered.
"What? Where—" I rubbed my eyes with my knuckles, stifling a yawn that stretched my mouth wide. How long had I been sleeping? The world outside the car seemed blurry, my mind fogged with sleep. Justin was already out of the Uber, gracefully pulling our luggage from the trunk.
"Miss, I don't want to be disrespectful, but I've to—" the driver's voice was hesitant, as if trying to balance politeness with urgency.
"Bro, keep it cool. My wife's pregnant, she's tired, and you can wait a minute," Justin's voice, firm yet gentle, cut through the moment, making my eyes widen in surprise. Did he just call me his wife?
"I—" The word caught in my throat, a protest dying on my lips as I tasted the sweetness of the term. It sounded beautiful when he said it, even though I wasn't his wife yet.
"Come here, babe," Justin's voice was softer now, his hand extended toward me, palm up, inviting me into the world outside the car. His hand, warm and reassuring, tightened around mine as I stepped out, his touch grounding me as I found my balance. Once I was out, he didn't let go. His arms snaked around my waist, pulling me close, and he kissed my cheek with a tenderness that made my heart flutter.
"What?" I asked, still half-dreaming, the world around me blurry with sleep.
"Nothing," he whispered against my skin, his breath tickling my ear. "You're just still kinda sleeping." He kissed my other cheek, a lingering, affectionate press of his lips. "Don't worry. Once we check in, I'll massage you until you dream about donuts."
I couldn't help but smile at that, a soft laugh escaping my lips. The idea of melting into his arms and dreaming sweet dreams was all too tempting. I knew I should be excited about Florida, about Disney World, but right now, the exhaustion from the flight weighed on me. All I wanted was to cuddle with him, to feel his warmth beside me as I drifted back to sleep.
Justin handed our luggage to a bellhop, and I lingered near the elevators, leaning against the wall for support. The lobby was bustling with energy, but all I could focus on was Justin, who was at the check-in desk, a smile lighting up his face as he spoke to the receptionist. He looked so at ease, so in control, and it made me feel safe.
When he finally turned and walked toward me, keys in hand, his smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "I love seeing places with you. It makes me feel like I'm seeing them for the first time, Angel."
My heart swelled at his words, a warmth spreading through my chest that made me smile back at him, the corners of my lips curving up almost involuntarily. "I love you, bebé."
"I love you," he echoed, and kissed the side of my head, his laughter rumbling through him as his fingers threaded through my messy hair. "Your hair is a mess."
