Maia's PoV
The next morning, the sun rose over Miami Beach, casting a golden light across the water. The sky was a brilliant blue, and the air was warm and fragrant with the scent of salt and sunscreen. Justin and I woke up wrapped in each other's arms, the memory of last night still lingering in the soft glow of our shared smiles.
After a lazy breakfast in bed, where Justin insisted on feeding me pieces of ripe, juicy fruit between stolen kisses, we decided to spend the day at the beach. The idea of soaking in the sun, swimming in the clear blue water, and simply enjoying each other's company sounded like the perfect way to begin our first full day as an engaged couple.
We dressed quickly, eager to get outside. I slipped into a simple yet flattering bikini that Justin had picked out for me during one of our shopping trips. It was white, with delicate lace details, and it made me feel both confident and comfortable. Justin wore his usual beach attire—dark swim trunks that clung to his muscular frame, accentuating the tattoos that ran up his arms and across his chest. He looked effortlessly handsome, his tanned skin glowing under the sunlight.
We walked hand in hand down to the beach, the sand warm and soft beneath our feet. The beach was alive with the sound of laughter and waves crashing against the shore. Families were scattered along the sand, building sandcastles and playing in the surf, while couples strolled along the water's edge, lost in their own worlds.
We found a spot near the water and spread out our towels. The moment we were settled, Justin turned to me with a mischievous grin, his eyes twinkling. "Race you to the water?" he challenged, already starting to move.
I laughed, shaking my head at his playful mood. "You know you'll win, but sure, why not?" I replied, getting to my feet.
Before I could take another step, Justin was off, sprinting towards the waves with the exuberance of a kid. I followed at a more leisurely pace, my laughter carried away by the breeze. When I reached the water's edge, Justin was already waist-deep, waiting for me with open arms.
"Come on, Angel!" he called, his voice full of warmth and excitement.
The water was cool and refreshing as I waded in, the waves gently lapping against my skin. When I reached Justin, he pulled me into his arms, spinning me around in the water as I shrieked with delight. His laughter echoed mine, blending with the sound of the waves.
We swam together, the water buoying us as we floated side by side, our fingers intertwined. Justin's arm was a reassuring presence around my waist as we drifted, letting the current carry us. The sun sparkled on the water, turning everything into a shimmering, golden haze.
For a while, we just floated in comfortable silence, our bodies moving in sync with the rhythm of the ocean. The warmth of the sun on our skin, the coolness of the water, and the gentle rocking of the waves created a sense of peace that was almost hypnotic.
