Robyn (5-18)
Onika (5-18)

Nobody's POV

Robyn sat down on the lunch table with her Lime Chiffon lunchbox. She loves the cartoon Strawberry Shortcake but most importantly she loves the green character, Lime Chiffon. Green is also her favorite color of all time. She's wearing a green polo shirt with black pants and her green and white Jordan 4's to match. She opened her lunchbox and smiled at what her mother packed for her.

A honey turkey, lettuce, and mayonnaise sandwich cut up into small squares with a bag of cookies. A few grapes with a green toothpick and a box of apple juice. Robyn's mother also left a sweet note for her daughter, which she always does.

Stay green my bean!
-Mommy

Robyn laughed at the note and began eating her lunch. Soon another student walked up to her. The little girl is wearing pink and she has a Strawberry Shortcake lunchbox. She sat at the table with Robyn and she smiled at her.

"Hi!" Robyn spoke. She's really friendly but doesn't have any friends, just as yet. The girl just waved and opened her lunchbox. "You don't speak?" The girl furrowed her brows and Robyn gasped.

"I didn't mean it in a mean way! What's your name?" The girl shook her head. Robyn looked her up and down, "Okay you don't have to tell me. Can I call you Pinks because you like the color pink?" The girl thought about it but then nodded.

"Okay, Pinks! My name is Robyn but you can call me Green because I like the color green." The two of them ate their lunch with Robyn doing most of the talking and Pinks just nodding. As the day went by, the two of them didn't really see much of each other being that they were in separate classes.

Robyn waved to Pinks as she walked to the car with her mother. Pinks waved back with a small smile. Upon hearing a car beep, she looked in that direction and saw her mother pulling up. She grabbed her Strawberry Shortcake bag and walked to her car.

"How was today Onika?" She just nodded. "Tanya use your words, baby, I know you can talk."

"It was g-good mommy. I-I made a friend I t-think."

"Ohh really? What's her name... or his name?"

"Her name is G-Green!"

"Green? That's what she said?"

"Well h-her name is Robyn and she calls me Pinks."

"Oh, and green is her favorite color?"

"Mmhmm."

"Did you tell her your name?"

"N-no that's why she c-calls me Pinks."

"Okay baby, thank you for talking to me. I miss your sweet voice." Onika used to talk a lot, even with a stutter, it would be hard to shut her up. Once she started going to school and the kids heard her stuttering, they began to make fun of her causing Onika to go mute. She only talks around her family.

Onika has anxiety at a very young age. Neither she nor her mother knows where the anxiety came from... it just appeared out of nowhere. Which is why she's so shy and closed off.

Robyn walked into the lunchroom and sat in her assigned seat. A few seconds later she saw Pinks sitting across from her. It's been about seven years since they met for the first time and every day since then, they have been friends. Robyn knows Onika's name but insists on still calling her Pinks. Onika doesn't mind.

"What's the matter with your face?" Robyn spoke and Onika rolled her eyes. She smiled causing Robyn to do the same. They each saw the stainless steel on each other's teeth. Onika had pink rubber bands while Robyn had green.
