"Ms. Toni, can you come play with me?" I nodded and walked to the living room seeing him on that game. He grabbed a red controller and handed it to me. "Thank you, what game is that?"
"Disney speedstorm."
"Disney speedstorm?"
"Yes, it's like Mario Kart but with Disney characters."
"Okay, I think I'm going to be Mickey... how do I do this?" Eissa laughed at me and I smiled. He explained the buttons to me and we soon began playing 1v1. Of course, he won all of the rounds but I beat him on the last one. I stopped playing so that I could get started on dinner.
I decided on making a salmon bowl which is Eissa's favorite and also my favorite. It's an easy and quick meal to prepare. I boiled a pot with some water so I could cook the rice in it. I hope he's still not playing that game... he's been on it for about an hour.
"Eissa, it's time to get off the game now."
"I am."
"What are you doing?"
"Reading a book." I looked in his direction and saw him reading a book on the couch.
"Okay." After I finished cooking, I called Eissa into the kitchen. He washed his hands while I prepared our plates.
"Thank you, Ms. Toni."
"You're very welcome." We ate while Eissa told me about his day at school. I never had that much fun at school before, even when I was his age.
"And then the teacher brought her cat to school!"
"Really? Are you telling a story?"
"No, I'm telling the truth! But I kept sneezing."
"Mmm, you might be allergic to cats baby."
"No, I like cats."
"That doesn't mean that you're not allergic to them."
"Oh, I want a cat."
"How are you going to take care of it?"
"Umm, you'll help me." Toni laughed.
"I don't like cats... and I know your mother would not want a cat in her house."
"Mmm, when I get older I'll get a cat then." Toni nodded with a slight chuckle. He helped Toni clean the kitchen and then it was time for him to take a bath.
"Take out your pajamas."
"Okay, what time is Mommy coming home?"
"I don't know, you know your mother is busy baby." Toni answered as Eissa dug through his draw. He took out a matching Spider-Man pajama set.
