It was a calm and peaceful day in Konoha, well as peaceful and it can get after a war. Naruto had finally completed his promise and brought Sasuke back to the village. His arm was gone now but at least he finally made it up to Sakura. Sasuke still acted the same as before he had left the village just slightly less power hungry. He had apologized to Sakura which made Naruto happy. He finally got to see Sakura truly happy again, but part of him still wished it was because of something he himself had said to her. They had all decided to get lunch as a team to welcome him back traditionally.Naruto woke up in his bed wondering if it had all been a dream and that Sasuke isn't actually back, but still he got ready. He threw on his Orange zip-up that had a black collar along with black sweatpants and his ninja slippers. Looking in the mirror he smirked at his own reflection doing his iconic big toothy smile. He tied his forehead protector and went to his window jumping out and on each roof to his destination.
Once he arrived he saw most of the team waiting outside. Sai, Sakura, Yamato, and Sasuke. Kakashi hadn't arrived yet so they all waited another 10 minutes before he arrived.
They all ate at the booth enjoying each other's company. Naruto even saw Sasuke smile a few times. "Well I really enjoyed that, its's been forever since we had the whole team together." Sakura said in a sappy tone. Everyone was grateful Naruto was able to get Sasuke to come back even if they both took a great toll.
They all started walking their own ways. "Naruto!" Naruto turned to see Sakura calling out to him. Walking to each other naruto looked down at Sakura, smiling.
"What's up, Sakura-chan?" Naruto asked shyly rubbing the back of his head. Sakura was looking down at her heels. Rubbing her hands together before looking up into Naruto's eyes. A blush creeped onto both of their cheeks.
"W-well I just wanted to thank you again, for bringing Sasuke back to the village." She said looking to the side, trying to avoid his gaze.
"Well I promised you I would do it, didnt I?" Putting a hand on her shoulder and a thumbs up with his other. She smiled at him. Ever since she saw him again for the first time when he came back from training with Jiraiya she started to feel something for him. She knew she had to push her feelings to the side when she saw how much Hinata loved him when she fought against pain for him. Healing her she could feel how much love Hinata had for him.
She pulled Naruto in for a hug. Her arms under his with a loose grip on his jacket. He was shocked at first but then hugged her back. Closing his eyes and taking it in since she was rarely like this to him. "I love you, Naruto." His eyes opened in shock pushing her back by the shoulders. Looking her in the eyes.
"Sakura-chan? What did you say?" He had a serious look in his eye. This slightly scared her. Reminding her of the first time she said it on that snowy day. Nervous it might turn out the same way.
"I said I love you, Naruto. I really do mean it." She blushed. She wanted to know if the feeling flew both ways. Do I really want to know? She thought deep down. "We both know, we feel a certain way for each other." She took one of his hands off her shoulder holding it between her own. The feelings she thought she could push away were harder to hide than she thought. "I want to be yours, Naruto."
"S-Sakura.." He looked at her. His eyes on the brink of brewing tears. She looked at him. Tears in her eyes slowly falling down. Sighing and letting go of his hand closing her eyes.
"Look I-" She was cut off as their lips clashed together for a long but passionate kiss. Pulling away he hugged her. Never wanting to let go. He wanted this to last forever.
"I love you too." His head dropping onto her shoulder.
"I always have."
There they stood. Two people who after years finally were able to express their feelings for each other. Unmoving even in the brisk wind blowing. Their hair flowing together. Finally overcoming all of their troubles to be happy together.
