Amber P.O.V.
You know that feeling when you don't really know where you are and what you're doing? Yeah, pretty much describes my situation.
I'm standing in the middle of the street trying to figure out what's going on. Right now the schools 'bad boy', dare I say Joshua, is standing outside my door.
He has a smirk that most girls would die for, when he sees me he raises an eyebrow. I begin to blush as I advance towards my bland front door.
"Why hello there Amber." He casually says to me. It's not weird at all how he's at my front door or anything.
"Hi," I reply with a bluntly, trying to make him leave his spot; strategically placed right infront of the door. I reach for my door knob when he stops me and grabs my arm. How many times is a guy going for do that to me today?
He glances around before continuing, "You happen to be my new neighbour sunshine."
No.
"What?" I say.
"Yeah, and how lucky am I to have a beautiful neighbour like you living right next door," he says with creepy stalker vibes.
I pushed him away, okay; he's hot and all but he hangs around people like Sierra. Just today he was making out with some fling.
I walk through my front door quietly and run upstairs. I collapse on my bed before texting Joanna everything.
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." I reply. Jake has been pestering me all day about my new neighbour. "I can't believe he's moved to where I live. Ugh"
He studied the expression on my face for a second before saying, "He's the hottest guy in school and you don't care that he's your neighbour?" Is he gay or something?
I rolled my eyes, "I totally don't give a shit."
"But!"
"He's hot and all but I don't give a... Muffin." Jake's eyebrow shoots up when he hears my strange vocabulary. He then notices a teacher standing behind him as he straightens his posture.
I went on doing my work, Jake kept on glancing over at me with a questioning glare.
He poked my thigh with a pencil.I gave him a 'WTF' look before going back to work.
I walked out of my last class devastated. Joshua was my neighbour and now he was my science partner. Well, I guess I can now officially say that this has been the worst week in history.
I'm now getting glares from about every girl in school and I'm about to melt. I'm flattered but... Oh. They're staring at me because of the whole Joshua thing. Okay, well incase you were wondering, I worked really hard on this outfit today and would like atleast a little appreciation.
I walked home with Jake because he needed to understand exactly what happened today. So I explained:
The teacher was rambling on about how this does that and that does this and yada yada yada. "Pick a partner for your project, maybe someone you could work with after school."
Well...
"Aye, Amber, you wanna be partners?" He smirks at me with that devilish face of his.
No.
"Okay..."
Dang Flabbit.
Jake and I were walking down a trail in the park. The area became very secluded and quiet as we made our way down the paths. We came to a clearing where we decided to sit and hang out. Jake was on his phone texting while I was thinking.
Thinking about what the what am I going to do about Joshua.
"What's on your mind?"
I stretch my face out before replying, "Joshua."
He glares at a tree, "Oh, well I think you should just take advantage of this opportunity."
"What?"
"He's the hottest guy in school and he's going after you. " He continues, "what the fuck is going through your mind that makes you not want him back?" Totally gay.
I groan, "He's not my type, he's too full of it."
"What is your type?" He raises an eyebrow.
"When did you become a girl?" I mimic his action.
"I asked you a question, you know."
"Well, I know what you like," I paused before continuing with a smirk. "You like tall men with deep voices and bad boy attitudes."
"You know I'm not gay right," he said matter of fact-ly.
I laugh for awhile before sighing. "Why do you want to know?"
He stops and studies my face, "because you're my best friend so don't I have the right to know?"
"Well..." I start, " I like guys who aren't afraid to say their mind, I don't like nerds or overly confident jerks. I like guys with a personality, people who aren't one sided."
He nods without saying a word. I feel like I should ask him the same question but it would probably ruin the mood. I like the silence, it's peaceful.
"So you're like Shrek."
"Hm?" I question.
"You like people with layers. Onions have layers." He says.
"Just one little kiss," Joshua pleas.
"No!" I shout over my shoulder.
"Pleeeeease."
This was getting really annoying, I was about to just go with it.
"I'll make it worth your time." He smirks.
Nevermind.
