Cheers!

"So much is happening right now in your life, you must be so excited." Charlotte Davis said, changing the topic from gushing about the ultrasound picture Mila had shown them to Grace, who was getting married tomorrow.

"I guess that's a word for it." Grace mumbled before taking a sip from her beer, which had Laura and Mila watch her with a worried smile.

"Everyone has the jittery the night before they get married." Laura supplied and Grace thought that Laura surely did, with the love story she had and the lose that was intervened in it. "That is very much normal." She added, which had Charlotte and Mila, bless their hearts, nod in agreement, even though Grace wasn't even sure if she got cold feet. She felt alright. What truly bothered her was the lack of time she had spend with Bradley as of lately.

At first she had had to spend hours and hours with Peterson to prepare for the officer dinner, then she had to go there and now Peterson the younger and Jonathan Bates were troubling her on top of the millions of calls and emails she was receiving. It was nice, to be wanted, it really was, but she would rather want her soon-to-be husband to want her, in a different was than all these commanding officers did.

Biting her lip, Grace knew that she had to rearrange her time management in favour of Bradley, but all the things that were coming together right now were exceptions to the rule. A promotion came up once every four years if one was lucky and the average number of weddings was one. Just as that it didn't happen every day that the romance of some of her friends was endangering their career and since she was both their commanding officer, her own career too. It was just a bit much, all of that piling up on top of each other, but she would manage and she would give Bradley the time and devotion he deserved, once she had settled a few of the other things and got a hold on the chaos on her desk. Not even to mention when the last time was, she managed to actually go into the air with the students for a hop. It felt as if it had been a lifetime ago.

"Actually, I think it will be fine. We had it coming. It's time we finally tie the knot." Grace pointed out with a shrug of her shoulder, which had Ada snort.

"You are a real romantic, Kazansky." The older woman pointed out, only for Mila to elbow her.

"That's brilliant." Mila said, ignoring Ada in favour of smiling at Grace, before telling them how much in love she had been as they married. Her legs were shaking so badly as she walked down the aisle, she had lost one of her shoes, only for Erik to run down the aisle to meet her and help her back into her shoes, giving her right the Cinderella moment.

"How can you bare such cuteness?" Ada asked, even though they all knew she didn't really wait for an answer from Mila who just smiled slightly, something close to a grimace. "However one might take it, this is your last night unmarried, so toss the shit you're drinking and get yourself a real drink, Kazansky. If this is what you understand under a party, it's embarrassing." Ada added, which had Charlotte nod in agreement, about to chiming in, but Grace was quick to stop her before she could. This was taking a turn she wanted to avoid at all cost.

"It very much isn't and that was the plan all along." Grace let Ada know, while Laura seemed to think about something, before she spoke up.

"We could turn this in a little bachelorette party." She offered, but Grace shook her head.

"Oh, no." Grace decided. "I still have to bring some stuff to my parents house and I'm giving no one the chance to get me drunk the night before I get married."

"Oh, come on. Don't be such a killjoy." Ada called out, but Grace shook her head again. She hadn't planned on staying longer than what it would take her to drink a single beer.
