Bound to fall in love

There it was.the city of dreams. Right in front of her eyes. She could hear the sound of the bustling city.She was checking out of the airport to finally settle in an apartment with her best friend in MUMBAI. After 2 years of begging her parents and convincing them she was mature enough Shanaya was finally here with her best friend Mehar in city of dreams.

With the thought of settling down in a new city just endowned upon her she knew she could do anything with mehar by her side. After all they'd been best friends since 8th grade when she saved mehar from getting bullied by the boys and might not have "accidentally" kicked them "there ". Although she was excited to settle in the new city she couldn't skip the ind vs aus match that was going on seeing each ball being bowled on her phone while mehar had to do all the work and get their bags collected.

One thing about Shanaya that all her loved ones know is that she's a die hard cricket fan and by that I mean she could leave everything if it was for a match even if it meant skipping a trip to fricking DUBAI which she did during a world cup match and instead went to Dharamshala to watch the Kohli classic. Mehar on the other hand was interested in cricket as much as a size of pea (that's still exaggeration).

After all the baggage was collected they booked a cab and reached the society they were supposed to stay.after meeting the landlord they were handed the keys of room 77 which Shanaya being delusional thought was a sign because it's SHUBMAN's jersey number.

Mehar not feeding into any of her delusions simply said "Bhai hogya tera?please mujhe chaabi dede kyunki mujhe tere iss Shubman mai
koi interest nai h. I just want to go to my room and sleep."

Shanaya being offended faked her an angry pouty face while handing the keys in her hand and they made their way towards the lift.on reaching their apartment vaani knew it was a new journey which was about to unfold and she couldn't wait to enjoy the new experiences waiting for her the best thing about it being that she  had her bestfriend by her side. After taking out the neccessaties from her suitcase she changed into her night suit and without wasting a second took the remote and put the match on the tv.

With 5 runs needed and Shubman on strike with 96 runs in hand she knew he could pull it off. Shanaya was his biggest fan since his U-19 days and had supported him through his entire career and all his ups and downs. With Mitchell starc bowling the second last ball of the match everyone had their eyes fixated on the tv and what happened next was unexpected (not really) Shubman pulled the ball for a six and India won the match as well as the series by 3-2.

Shubman hitting the winning six as well as reaching his 2nd t20i hundred celebrated but with tears in his eyes as he knew that this hundred was a comeback from the worst phase he had had. After being trolled over social media for his mediocre performance in Gujarat as captain this century silenced the haters. He then did he's signature celebration and Shanaya clapped like a little girl who had just got her favourite icecream.

It was a great innings played by him and she was happy to see Shubman finally back in form.After the post match presentation in which Shubman won man of the match vaani turned off the tv and went to her bedroom where mehar had already dozed off after finishing her dinner.

Shanaya took out her laptop and started working. She was an aspiring entrepreneur who wanted to make a fashion designing company. Since she was 10 she was always interested in designing clothes and soon this turned into a passion. One of the reasons for coming to Mumbai was to get help as well as establish her work in this  company in progress. Her family was always supportive of her and never held her back.She wanted to make them proud especially her mother who was always there for her like a bestfriend always advised her and helped her when she needed it the most.

When she was done with her work she realised it was already 2 in the morning. Since tomorrow was a Sunday she didn't need to wake up early in the morning she binged watched few episodes of friends. Without realising she had dozed off while the laptop was still on. She was excited for the new adventures and challenges she would face but did not know that a very surprising series of events was going to follow her soon.

So this is something my best friend has been forcing me to do for a long time. So here it is- an average Shubman fanfic about how he falls in love with a girl who's best friends with his interviewer.
