~ RACHEL'S POV
My eyes flutter open as the sound of my alarm gets louder and louder, the ray of sunshine peeps through the curtain, and I reach out for my phone to turn off the alarm. Once it's gone, I slam my head back on the pillows as a sigh escapes my mouth.
I feel so tired even though I just woke up from sleep. Throughout last night, I have been thinking of how to get the cabinet keys. I even checked Richie's closet later at midnight, yet I found nothing.
I don't know why, I feel like I'm missing something, it's almost like I'm not taking my revenge the right way I should. Maybe I need to stand back and actually get Richie to trust me so much that he will willingly share everything with me. I guess then will be the right opportunity to get into him and ruin him.
I take a moment to relax and think before standing up and heading into the bathroom. Richie isn't in the room and I am not surprised because I know he's in the gym room exercising. He always does that every morning while I sleep back, I'm the sleepyhead among the two of us.
Taking a quick shower, I wore a brown sweater dress that didn't reach my knees. I put on an over-the-knee boot. Since it's Sunday, I planned on meeting Rebecca at a cafe after breakfast, we made some plans today. Angelina is also coming with her, this is literally the longest time Angelina spent with Rebecca. She normally stays for two to three days and then she's gone back to Miami but now she's spent almost two weeks.
Stepping out of the room, I walked into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. "Good morning guys," I say to Calista and Abel. Calista is sitting behind the counter while Abel is cooking something presumably for Calista
"Rachel, I'm so glad you're here," Calista says grinning
As I sat down next to Calista, her grin made me feel instantly welcomed. Curiosity got the best of me, so I asked her, "Why are you so glad to see me?"
"Well," she began, "Abel and I were discussing something important, and we want you to be the one to make the final decision." But before Calista could say anything else, Abel interrupted with excitement, asking "Should we go to Hawaii or the Bahamas."
Calista playfully nudged Abel's chest, grinning even more. "Hey, I was going to say that," she said, teasingly.
Abel, holding Calista's hand, quickly apologized, leaving a sweet peck on her hand.
They are so adorable.
In response, I say "I think both are great but you should go for Hawaii. It's such an exciting place, and I'm sure you will have an incredible time."
Calista turned to Abel, triumphantly saying, "See, I told you Hawaii is better!"
Abel, with a loving smile, responded, "Hawaii or Bahamas, it doesn't matter to me as long as I'm with you. I know it's going to be great."
Calista couldn't resist and leaned in to kiss him.
Just then, the maid approached me with a cup of coffee, as if she knew exactly what I wanted. I thanked her and took a sip, savoring the hot, cream-free drink just the way I liked it. Calista, filled with excitement, turned to me and said, "We're going to have so much fun together!"
"We?" I questioned, almost choking on my coffee.
"Yeah," Calista replied, slightly confused. "We're all going on vacation. Didn't Richie tell you?"
"We?" I asked again, feeling a bit bewildered.
Before Calista could explain further, Richie walked into the room, interrupting our conversation. "Hey guys, I just spoke to the manager. The plane is ready for boarding, so I think it's time we pack our bags," he announced. As he approaches me, he pecks me on the cheek.
"Great, we're going to Hawaii! Rachel made the final call," Calista exclaims.
"Alright then, Hawaii it is," Richie agrees.
"I better start packing," Calista says, grabbing Abel's hand as they leave the kitchen.
I turn my attention to Richie, waiting for an explanation.
"What?" he asks innocently.
"What?" I question, feeling confused. He can't be serious right now. He never mentioned anything about a vacation, and now he's acting like he has no idea what I'm talking about.
"Care to explain this vacation thing?" I ask, wanting some answers.
"Oh yeah, that. Have you packed?" he asks, completely ignoring my question.
"No, I haven't packed. You know why? Because I had no idea about it," I exclaim, my frustration growing. "Why didn't you tell me, Richie?"
"I didn't tell you?" he questions, looking surprised.
"Richie," I say, giving him a questioning look.
"Okay, fine. I didn't tell you because I thought you would reject coming with us," he admits.
"What makes you think I won't reject it now?" I retort.
He smirks and says, "Because you can't say no to me right now. I have everything ready, Rach. All I want is for you to be with me."
He holds my hand gently, his touch sending a comforting warmth through me. He leans in and places a peck on the back of my hand, his thumb caressing it softly.
"I want us to have the time of our lives, create memories," he says, his eyes filled with sincerity.
I let out a sigh not wanting to go. "Don't you want that?" he asks, his eyes searching mine, hoping for a positive response.
I can't help but roll my eyes, trying to hide my growing smile. "Alright, fine, I'll come with you," I finally give in
A triumphant grin spreads across his face as he plants a sweet peck on my cheek. "That's more like it," he says, his voice filled with delight. "Why don't you go start packing while I make a quick call?"
"Okay," I agree before he turns to leave. As I watch him walk out of the kitchen, curiosity piques in my head. I don't buy the whole "making memories" bullshit Richie just told me. I have a feeling that he's up to something; otherwise, he wouldn't have arranged a vacation last minute.
