The Closing of a Circle
In the years that followed, Jeff and Bible’s love story blossomed into something neither could have imagined. Their days were filled with joy and contentment, and their hearts swelled with the love they had for each other and for their beautiful daughter, Cherry.
One evening, as the sun dipped below the horizon and painted the sky in shades of pink and gold, Jeff stood by the window of their living room, holding Cherry in his arms. She giggled, her tiny fingers reaching out to touch the fading sunlight. Bible watched them from the doorway, his heart full as he took in the scene before him.
Jeff caught Bible’s gaze and smiled, his eyes shining with the warmth of their shared happiness. Bible walked over, wrapping an arm around Jeff and pressing a kiss to his temple. Cherry babbled happily between them, and the moment felt perfect—like a picture from a dream they never wanted to wake up from.
“Do you ever think about them?” Jeff asked softly, his thoughts drifting to the past lives that still haunted his dreams.
Bible sighed, resting his chin on Jeff’s shoulder. “Sometimes,” he admitted. “But then I remember that we’re here, together, with our daughter. And I know that this is our real life.”
Jeff nodded, his heart full. The memories of Vegas and Kim, their tragic love story, were still there, lingering like shadows at the edges of his mind. But they no longer held the same weight. Jeff had come to terms with the past, realizing that while their love had ended in sorrow, his own love story with Bible was different.
In this life, they had found their happy ending.
Jeff looked down at Cherry, who was now snuggled contentedly between them, and smiled. “I think they’d be happy for us,” he said quietly. “I think they’d want us to have what they couldn’t.”
Bible kissed the top of Cherry’s head and then Jeff’s. “I believe that too,” he replied. “And I’m grateful every day that we’ve been given this chance.”
They stood there together, wrapped in the warmth of their love and the life they had built. The ghosts of the past no longer haunted them but had instead become a reminder of how precious their time together was.
As the days turned into years, Jeff and Bible continued to write their own story—one filled with love, laughter, and the kind of happiness that comes from knowing you’ve found your true home in each other’s hearts.
Vegas and Kim’s love might have ended in tragedy, but Jeff and Bible had broken that cycle. They had faced their challenges, weathered the storms, and come out stronger on the other side. Their love had been tested, but it had endured, proving that they were destined for the happy ending that had eluded their past selves.
And so, in the quiet moments of their life together, when Jeff would see Bible playing with Cherry or catch his eye across the room, he would remember that they had earned this happiness. They had fought for it, and now it was theirs—an ending full of love, hope, and a future they would cherish together.
In this life, they had won the battle for their happiness. And for Jeff, that was more than enough.
