There was no more awful feeling than the shame he was feeling right now. Their teacher was a monster. Absolutely.
He had missed out on his leftovers (midnight snack) but that was his fault for giving up after punching Kirishima for the third time that day. Other than that it was a completely normal, he woke up early, made himself breakfast before most of this classmates even rose from their beds and was happily munching away when they all started to appear. There had been no sign of Kirishima which he was eternally grateful for - after what happened the evening before, after all of it, he didn't want to see him. He had already had enough embarrassment simply startling himself awake out of pure shock because his dream was going places that only his imagination could think of.
It had been when he was about to wash up his dishes that Kirishima, and co, dragged themselves into the kitchen, looking like zombies. Horrible timing if he must say.
"Are you alright washing up Bakugou?", Mina appeared next to him as everyone else took their seats around the table in the kitchen.
"What? Did he punch Kirishima too many times that his hand stopped working?", Kaminari laughed but Katsuki simply wasn't in the mood for blatant mockery first thing in the morning. Kaminari was always a little grumpy when he woke up in the morning, if he was really exhausted he was more ill-mouthed than Todoroki. He knew that but he seriously wasn't having it.
"I can punch you too if you're that jealous.", he gritted out yet, refused to turn around because he knew Kirishima was there, staring at him.
"Alright, people, take a chill pill.", Sero groaned.
"If you must know, Kaminari, I spooked him when he was trying to make his dinner last night and he cut his finger by accident. It was entirely my fault so I'm owning up to my mistakes.", she put a lot of snarky emphasis on the last part of her words that Katsuki almost went up in flames thinking it was directed at him. However, when he turned to her she was looking at both Kirishima and Kaminari. They both looked as guilty as each other but, naturally, it had nothing to do with Katsuki, "Anyway- Bakugou, you don't want me to wash it instead? It's probably not a good idea to get that wet."
"It's not going to fucking kill me.", he scoffed, he wasn't a wuss. Worst come to worst, his finger will take longer to heal but, seriously, it wouldn't kill him.
"Oh- just give it to me, would you?", Mina practically shoved him out the way and took the dishes out his hands with a great force Katsuki didn't even know she had. Katsuki just stood there and stared at her in disbelief. But then she looked to him and grinned. The other three were wrapped up in a conversation whilst they both stood in silence. Still, he could feel the occasional look from a certain someone. It would poke and prod at the side of his face. What is his problem?
It couldn't be any more awkward. Although, he supposed it wasn't as awkward as detention yesterday.
He had been debating just leaving but Mina was washing up his dishes and it felt wrong to just turn and leave. So he was stuck in and endless cycle of 'should I go or should I stay?'. The minute he turned to leave though Mina spoke up again, "You can hang out with us you know. It won't kill you."
She spoke quietly so that the loudmouths in the corner wouldn't hear them. Mina continued without waiting for Katsuki to say a word, "How about lunch today? Bring Shinsou too."
"Why would I bring him?", Katsuki grimaced, "Sounded like you all hated him."
"Turns out there was a little misunderstanding.", she shrugged, "After you left last night, he showed up wanting to talk to you. Kirishima didn't even let him get through the front door. We accused him of some stuff a while back, well- the start of the year, so we were all worried when we saw you with him but it wasn't him, he just had really bad timing so we thought it was. He clarified that for us last night so really it's no biggie. Kirishima and Kaminari, however..."
