On cue, Katsuki blinked open his eyes as the car came to a stop. He was faced with the familiar sight of the agency he was dreading showing up at. He felt like he'd been hit by a train. Not only that but wiping drool from the corner of his mouth as subtly as he could was rather difficult when he could feel Kirishima's gaze on him. "Good morning."
"You shoulda woke me up.", he grumbled, pouting as he turned to look at his friend, the scent of fresh taiyaki and hot chocolate hitting his nose.
"But you were sleeping so peacefully. There wasn't much traffic today either so you're early.", Kirishima smiled, "You can eat it here— if you want to."
Katsuki muttered out a series of curses, sitting up fully after somehow sliding further down the seat. The seats were leather to be fair. If Katsuki went in and ate it, he dreaded to think that a certain someone might start buying it for him every morning because he saw him eat it once. He'd seen a similar situation happen before, he'd like to be cautious enough that he doesn't end up with underwear getting mailed through his letter box. Of course he was eating it in the car if Kirishima allowed him to. "Just wake me—"
Kirishima shoved the taiyaki in his mouth, not allowing him to speak any longer. Without much protest, he ate quietly and slowly. Part of him didn't even want to go in the building, eating small nibbles at a time was the only thing between him and the front door. He'd hoped to see he-who-shall-not-be-named strolling by and going in before him so they, at least, didn't have to meet outside. Hell, if he saw him with Kirishima he might try to become an exact copy of him. Although, he did notice their shades of red were different. Kirishima's was bright and warm, that guy's was a murky wine as if he had just shoved red dye over his originally brown hair. He could imagine he did.
"That thirty minutes extra sleep really made a difference, huh?", Kirishima spoke through bites of food, already on his second taiyaki. "You're looking less tired."
"Less meaning I still look fucking tired.", he grimaced. He would hate to see Asami's reaction to the state he was in. She would be throwing a fit at their boss to give him a break. Something he was beginning to think he needed. Younger him would have never. The word 'break' as in 'to rest' did not exist in his vocabulary back then. The word 'break' as in 'to destroy' definitely was and still is.
"No, honestly, it's barely noticeable.", Kirishima waved his hands, "You're looking as fresh as a baby."
"A fresh baby is covered in blood.", he huffed, pulling down the sunshield to look in the mirror at himself. Kirishima wasn't really lying when he said it wasn't noticeable. His eyes didn't droop as much as they had when he had first looked in the mirror after waking up.
"No need to get technical on me. You know what I meant.", Kirishima defended.
"'No need to get technical on me'.", Katsuki mimicked, adding in excessive hand and head movements Kirishima hadn't even done whilst helping himself to more steaming taiyaki from the paper bag situated between them. Then he mocked him once again as Kirishima stared at him with his mouth agape, pretending to be offended, "'You know what I meant'! Oh Bakugou you're so stu—"
"Hey, hey, hey. Too far. I do not sound like that.", Kirishima scoffed at Katsuki's high-pitched 'Eijirou Kirishima' voice impression. He thought it was pretty good. Katsuki only stuck his middle finger up at him to which Kirishima snatched it, pulling it towards his mouth as he barred his teeth.
Snatching his hand away, Katsuki kept it close to his chest, "The fuck. That was my finger."
"You were the one giving me attitude first thing.", he sassed back, going back to the pretending to cry stunt he had already preformed once before as he clutched his heart, "Even after I bought you breakfast— ah— my wallet. It's—"
