There were many a thing wrong with his day; where his patrol was located (the west side of all places), that damned guy that caught him the second he was about to leave for patrol (the audacity he had to remind him to take care of himself) and then his current predicament. A mob of press he had no choice but to stand and and talk to.
Really it was them shouting random things at him and him making extremely judgemental faces. With all of them talking at once he had no idea what half of them were saying. None of it particularly interested him so he just stood there, waiting with a hand on his hip for them to finish yapping.
The talking simmered down with his lack of response and, finally, when the last person fell quiet, he raised an eyebrow, "Finished?"
He thought it was obvious by now that the only responses they would get from him was him yelling back at them or nothing. They had a lot of complaints every time he yelled at them so this time he decided to say nothing.
"What is your relationship with Red Riot?!", one suddenly blurted out.
Katsuki, taken aback by the sudden question, blurted, "I dunno."
He could understand the confused looks he got when he too was confused. He'd only realised he had said it after he had said it. "Uh— We used to be classmates so we know each other."
"Have you kept in contact with him even after graduation?"
"Why do you care? Fuck off.", he grunted, stuffing his hands in his pockets knowing that the simple answer would be 'no'. It wasn't any of their business though so why should he tell them that?
"There have been pictures from this morning released where you two are sharing a car. Do you have anything to say about that?", Katsuki would be impressed at how quickly they got out if it weren't for the invasive question.
He scoffed. Katsuki would have thought they would have learned by now that the great god explosion Dynamight never answered their stupidly invasive questions. He hated how they dug for more information over and over but if he could take one thing away with him every time he met the press, it would be that they never learned. Ever. "It has nothing to do with you, go stick your dick elsewhere."
Katsuki, as always, screwed up his face and flipped them off. If they weren't going to change neither would he. With that, he stomped off leaving them all agape as per usual. Seeing their faces really made his day honestly, even if it was still a shit day overall. Nothing happened.
When he got back from patrol though, he was bugged by Shindo, he didn't see the other annoyance. Silently he celebrated. He sat with his legs up on the desk, scrolling through his phone. This time seeing the photos of Kirishima and him in the car. A few where Katsuki was quite literally knocked out completely and others where they were both stuffing their faces. They blurriness of the shots made it hard to see their faces so even as he stared hard at Kirishima, it wasn't like he could see anything.
Yet, there was one. It was a little clearer than the rest. Katsuki, himself, was very clearly still asleep despite being parked outside the agency. He was slumped over, head resting against the cold window, it looked incredibly uncomfortable. But Kirishima, it made Katsuki wish he hadn't gone down a spiral of looking it up. He was leaning against the steering wheel, head resting on his forearm. The photo was taken from the front of car so Kirishima's face wasn't seen but the way his arm reached out to Katsuki's face definitely meant he was awake.
'Don't forget to eat lunch!'
A notification popped up on his phone, from Kirishima because he didn't recall anyone else being bold enough to text him. The text made him roll his eyes, he wouldn't forget.
