Leela's knees buckled, her body giving in to the overwhelming weight of stress and despair over the baby's condition. She was in the middle of preparing coffee, her mind spiraling deeper into anxiety. As she poured milk into a glass, her hand trembled, and the vessel slipped from her grasp, clattering to the floor.
The noise startled Krishna, who rushed to the kitchen. Seeing Leela sprawled on the floor, unconscious, he felt a jolt of fear strike through him. His heart raced as he quickly called for an ambulance.
After what felt like an eternity, Krishna Kumar, having gulped down some water and reached his daily step goal in record time, was finally allowed into the ICU. The empty chairs in the waiting room seemed to mock his impatience. Inside the ICU, he saw Leela, unconscious but still cradling her hands protectively over her womb.
His throat tightened as he fought back tears. As if sensing his presence, Leela shivered, then slowly opened her eyes. Though her vision was blurred, she recognized him instantly. Panic surged through her, and she tried to sit up, her first thought for the baby.
Krishna gently held her, guiding her back to the bed. "Our baby is fine, Leela. It's growing well," he reassured her softly.
A wave of relief washed over Leela, leaving her speechless. She managed a faint smile before exhaustion overtook her, and she fell into a deep sleep. Her body, weakened from two days without proper nourishment, finally succumbed to rest, her happiness overshadowed by her physical state.
Meanwhile, in the mysterious realm of unborn life, a small but fierce entity stirred within Leela's womb. The baby, now conscious of its surroundings, felt a surge of irritation.
"Someone is disturbing my source," the baby thought angrily, its thoughts sharper than the tiny life form it was.
"That's your father," a wise old voice, the Mechanic of life, replied. "Because of him, your existence began."
The baby seethed at the thought. "Ooh.. So He's the reason for all this. He's the one who put me and my source through so much just to create bloody. Now, I think I found the one I'm looking for, the reason for all this. I'll make sure he never causes her pain again and take good care of him such that he'll never repeat this to cause troubles to more like me."
The Mechanic, who had previously believed that the baby would be grateful for the care it was receiving, realised it made a mistake. It had hoped that revealing the truth would bring peace, but the baby only grew angrier.
"Aargh.. You're getting confused and in turn, confusing me!" the Mechanic protested, exasperated.
"Fool," the baby sneered, "just like you and that wretched one 'bloody' did to me before, now it's all coming back to you."
Frustrated by the baby's relentless antagonism, the Mechanic decided to confer with the network assistants. It pulled them aside, whispering instructions.
"That's wrong," one of the network assistants responded, shaking its head. "We cannot interfere beyond their karma. If we alter the design, we'll face severe consequences. And if the Supreme Source learns of this, you'll be the one held accountable."
The Mechanic with a knack for meddling, knew it needed to convince the network engineers to execute a plan that would teach the baby a lesson. The network engineers were not easily swayed; they were methodical, rule-abiding beings, focused on ensuring that the lifeforms they monitored developed according to the grand design.
"Listen," the Mechanic began, using its most persuasive tone, "this baby is getting out of hand. It's plotting against its own father! If we don't do something now, it'll be a terror before it even sees daylight."
