(:Third Perspective:) _:a few days later, Rachel's house

Rachel was rushing down the stairs. She was looking for her homework she needed for school tomorrow. Not that she had to finish it, she had already done that. She had just seemed to misplace it.

"Mom? Have you seen my homework??" Rachel asked, walking down the last stairs.

Rachel looked into the kitchen to see her perplexed mother and a pale Ira.

"Rachel, who is this?" Her mom, Ryoko, asked. Rachel forgot that her mom hadn't met Ira yet.

"Uh-.... Yeah.... I probably should have said something sooner..." Rachel said apologetically, guilt looming over her.

"Is he your friend?" Ryoko asked, raising her eyebrow.

"Well..." Rachel said, "It's kind of a long story..."

"I'm on my lunch break. I have time." Ryoko said, upset.

They had settled unto to the dining room table. Rachel was sitting next to a panicked Ira and across from Ryoko.

"So.... One day I found Ira stranded on a beach, passed out.." Rachel started, "And then found out he had amnesia when he awoke. He happened to be to hungry, so I took him home to take care of him, and so guess I got kind of fond of him because he was really nice.

"And I guess Rory told my friends and they wanted to great him, but some of them were mad a didn't notify them first and should have taken him to the hospital. Not that he was in bad condition! It was just as if he had hit his head, or something, and had sprained his arm, but the was it for the most part..

"And we ran into his 'friend' later on, and I guess remembering what his name was jogged his memory and everything.

"After that, we just kind of bonded and he kept visiting me after a while. And everything started to escalate from there..."

Ryoko sat back, processing Rachel's story.

"And you two are...." Ryoko didn't have to finish her sentence. Rachel looked away guiltily, mad at herself for not having told her mom earlier. Ira looked down, not wanting Ryoko to think he was unworthy.

"I wanted to tell you... I guess we just never happened to have time alone..." Rachel said quietly, scared Ryoko would disapprove.

"And how long ago was this?" Ryoko asked.

"Almost a month..." Rachel answered, barely louder than a whisper.

Ryoko's phone went off, an alarm that she had to head back to work.

"We'll talk about this later." Ryoko said, pointing to Rachel.

"Yes, ma'am..." Rachel said, nervous.

Ryoko grabbed her bag and jacket and left the house, leaving Ira and Rachel.

Rachel still felt bad that she didn't tell her mom the entire truth, but it's not like she could say that Ira's supposed "friend", or Gura, just teleported into their house and tried to attack her and Ira.

"....Thanks for not telling her about me not being human..." Ira said, breaking an awkward silence.

Both of them were still jittery and anxious.

"She might've thought I was crazy otherwise... or.... Far more crazy than she already thinks I am..." Rachel said, still guilty about just now telling her mom about her and Ira.

"She doesn't think you're crazy!" Ira disagreed.

"She totally did!" Rachel said, finally peeling her eyes off the staircase and at Ira.

"No! She was just sad she didn't know before!" Ira said.

"How would you know?"

"Because she looked like she missed half of your entire life!" Ira said.

Rachel felt a pang of hurt. She never wanted her mom to be sad. She was already guilty for not having told her from the start.

"She didn't seem mad, though." Ira tried to comfort her.

"You really think so?" Rachel asked, feeling a small flicker of hope.

Ira nodded and smiled, making Rachel feel a bit better.

Maybe things could work out.

Maybe.

(Sorry for short chapter!!! I promise a conversation between Ryoko and Rachel will happen soon!! And we'll add Yuuzou in too!!)

((Also/PS) im using the Japanese names for Rachel's parents since they didn't have names in the Glitter Dub)
