Chapter 1 The first fight

In Mike's Basement

Mike, Will and Lucas were playing DnD, well, more like Will was playing DnD.
Since the two boys were just complaining about their girlfriends who broke up with them.
Will still tried his best to focus on playing and hoped to excite his friends at least a little bit.
Then, a phone call..
,,No! Don't listen, it's a distraction!"
Shouted Will frustrated. But Mike and Lucas gave each other a glance before they jumped up and Mike run to the Phone.
,,El? Ugh not interested."
And with that, Mike hung up again.
,,maybe we should just call them already?"
Lucas nodded fast and both were about to call, but Will run over to them.
,,hey! We're not done yet! You can't just leave!"
,,fine, you're right.. we sacrifice ourselves to save the people and go into the history books of the villagers as heroes, boom."
Said Mike and laughed to Lucas who smiled as well by this genius answer his friend gave.
Will on the other hand didn't found it funny.
He had worked on this campaign for quiet a while and his friends just threw the hard work out of the window! Now the usually quiet boy couldn't hold his frustration and anger in any longer.
,,FINE! You have never time! Do whatever u want I'm going home..."
He threw his Will the wise robe and hat off and grabbed his backpack.
,,hey Will, that was a joke! Let's keep playing!"
,,no."
,,come one we still wanna play! Right?"
,,y-yea totally-"
,,no Mike I'm going home!"
Will went to the stairs that lead out of Mikes basement, but Lucas was in the way and Mike called after him.
,,MOVE!"
Said Will annoyed and pushed Lucas by side, ignoring Mikes calls completely.
But of course Mike didn't wanted Will to leave like that, so he run after his best friend.
Lucas just stood in the base confused, not making any signs of moving or running after them.
,,Will please! You can't go it's raining!"
,,..."
,,listen the campaign is really cool, we're just not in to mood for it right now."
,,YEA MIKE, THATS THE PROBLEM! YOU GUYS ARE NEVER IN THE MOOD FOR IT ANYMORE! You all just do whatever you want and our group is falling apart!"
,,THATS NOT TRUE!"
,,really? Then where is Dustin right now?"
,,..."
,,see, you don't know and you don't even care! Obviously he doesn't either and I don't blame him! YOU RUINING OUR PARTY AND FOR WHAT?! JUST SO YOU CAN SWAP SPIT WITH SOME STUPID GIRL!"
,,EL IS NOT STUPID! ITS NOT MY FAULT YOU DONT LIKE GIRLS!"
,,..."
A moment of silence appeared between the two.
Will was visibly hurt and when Mike saw it he regretted his words instantly.
,,I'm not trying to be a jerk, I mean, what did u think? That we will never get girlfriends? That we just sit in my basement all day to play Nintendo and DnD for the rest of our life's?"
,,yea, i guess I did,... I really did..."
Now Will had tears building in his eyes. Mike knew he fucked up big times...
Will was about to grab his bike and leave, but Mike held him back.
,,Will wait PLEASE! ..don't leave like that, please."
His voice got small at the and and he was scared to let go of his friends arm now.
,,LET GO!"
He shock Mikes hand off.
,,Will Please I'm bagging you! I didn't mean it like that! U can't go before we fix this, PLEASE LOOK AT ME, WILL!"
,,so what? I have to take everything just because you can't stand seeing me getting mad at you? Even tho I have every reason to be mad?! Your really the worse right now, you're basically telling me to grow up already, but did you ever think about what I went through?! I NEVER MENTION IT BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO BE A BURDEN! BUT I WANT TO MAKE UP FOR THE TIMES WE LOST! YOU DONT UNDERSTAND IT MIKE, I JUST WISH I WOULD HAVE NEVER GOTTEN STUCK IN THE UPSIDE DOWN! IF ALL THAT NEVER HAPPENED YOU WOULD HAVE NEVER MET HER AND WE WOULD STILL SIT IN YOUR BASEMENT AND PLAY NINTENDO AND DND!-"
Now Will cried.
He sobbed and his breathing got shaky.
,,you don't understand it, how alone I've been all this time... in the past you cared, you cared about me... I guess you don't need me anymore.."
He almost whispered while swallowing his tears down. When Mike heard everything he was shocked, his grip on Wills arm loosened and Will used this chance to break free and drove away on his bike.

After standing for 2 minutes there and looking in the direction Will left, he turned around and run back inside.
Lucas was still standing near the stairs when Mike came down.
,,where is Will?"
No answer from Mike, he just went past Lucas and grabbed his raincoat.
,,hey, whatever man, he will get over it, he always does when it's about you. Let's call the girls now-"
,,go home."
,,what?"
Mike who went upstairs again, stopped and turned his head to Lucas.
,,I said go home! I don't have time today Lucas! If I don't fix this with Will RIGHT NOW I'm gonna lose him forever! I need to fix this alone so, LEAVE NOW!"
Lucas was speechless, but he did as he was told and picked up his stuff. But on the front door Lucas opens his mouth again.
,,I don't get it man? He's being way too sensitive about it! And why are you all mad about it too? You seriously go running after him in this rain, but you didn't even call El to apologize? Are u dating him or her?!"
,,SHUT UP LUCAS!"
,,it's the TRUTH!"
,,I SAID SHUT UP! YOU DONT KNOW WILL LIKE I DO, AND HE IS THE ONLY ONE WHO REALLY UNDERSTANDS ME! IVE BEEN AN ASSHOLE TO HIM ALL SUMMER AND HE JUST SWALLOWED IT AND FORGAVE ME LIKE YOU SAID, BUT I STILL DONT STOP! I HURTED HIM EVEN MORE WITHOUT REALIZING WHAT IM DOING! I WAS ALL FOCUSED ON EL EVEN THO WE NEVER REALLY TALK MUCH! And because of all that I forgot how lost I felt when Will was gone, how horrible it felt when they took that fake body out of the water... he's my best friend Lucas,.. I can take a lot but losing him? I can't take that... not again..."
After screaming his heart out he grabbed his bike and drove off as well, leaving a conflicted Lucas behind...
