It was early in the morning and Jungkook yawned heartily. The huge boulevards filled with cars and buses and the city began to wake up. Men and women in business attire passed him without noticing anything and he understood why Taehyung wanted to meet him so early.
Jungkook had arrived at Gwanghwamun Square earlier than agreed, taking pictures of the morning rush hour and the city bursting into life. Every metropole had the time in the morning it began waking up. The same morning routine counted for New York, even if it was claimed it was the city that never slept.
"Have you been waiting long?"
Jungkook startles and turns at the voice and furrows his brows in surprise next.
Obviously a man stands in front of him in wide comfortable clothes, a baseball cap on his head and sunglasses on his nose. But what really throws him off is the frizzy, longish hair that is peeking from under the cap. A grin follows that turns into a boxy smile.
"Good morning, Jungkook-ssi."
"What the everloving...," Jungkook mumbles, scanning Taehyung from head to toe.
"You like my outfit?"
"It's very homeboy, hip-hop," he answers.
"Perfect. It's not the style I usually wear in public, so I think it is fine."
"You look very undercover."
"I am," he agrees.
"I bet Seokjin would cry, seeing you with that wig."
Taehyung chuckles. "He was the one who gave it to me."
"Bless his soul. Was it hard for him?"
Taehyung makes a "little bit" hand gesture and laughs. "He also opted for a mustache, but I put my foot down. That is not comfortable. What if it falls off in the middle?"
Jungkook can picture Taehyung talking while a mustache falls off his face and he laughs again.
"You imagined it, right?" Taehyung asks cheekily.
"Yeah."
"Well," Taehyung says and looks at his watch. "We need to get going. Lots to see today."
Jungkook stows his camera back in his backpack. "Where are we going?" he asks, and turns to Gyeongbokgung Palace, but he feels a pull on his shirt and looks over his shoulder at Taehyung.
"This way, we will take the subway."
"Are you sure about this? What if people recognize you? You can't get out."
Taehyung pulls his sunglasses down and his eyes look serious. "Let's pretend for today, that I am one of a million in this city and act that way to blend in, okay?"
"I am not sure the hideous hair will do," Jungkook adds for consideration.
"Let's try anyway. I haven't taken the subway in a long time and I want to have that feeling again."
Jungkook huffs. "Now I am glad I took Taekwondo classes."
Taehyung snorts. "I took Jujutsu, we are unstoppable now," and he pulls Jungkook the other way.
Jungkook feels a bit nervous when they enter the underground. Rush hour is over, but there are still enough people in the section they are waiting. Taehyung chose the last subway car and looks at the map.
"We need to transfer," he informs him, "just follow me, okay."Jungkook nods, but can't help himself to stand in front of Taehyung to block other people from freely looking at him.
