"I'm so glad you're okay!" Izuku exclaimed, sinking back into his chair with a heavy sigh of relief. "But why didn't you reply to our messages?"
A pang of guilt hit you as Izuku believed your lies without question. To say he was relieved to see you alive and well would be an understatement. The green-haired boy had practically leaped out of his seat and rushed to you the moment he saw you. You hadn't expected him to be so worried, but Izuku had a good heart, and you truly felt bad for lying to him.
Yet, there was no way you could tell him the truth about where you had been for the past two months. So, you crafted a story about how you found other players and had been living with them since.
"I was dealing with some issues and my phone died before I could reply." Did that make sense? I hope he doesn't question it. "But I managed to charge it the other day, so you can text me again!"
"Issues..?" Izuku's eyebrows knitted together in worry. "Did you..." He leaned towards you with a hand over his mouth, "die again?!"
"Yes," you mindlessly agreed, not knowing what else to say. "I uh... ran into a nomu!"
"That's awful, doesn't this mean you only have one life left?!" he gasped, his hands flying to cover his mouth in shock.
"A-Actually, it's okay because I can earn more lives by doing my daily quests."
"What's that?"
"I'm given tasks to do every day, and I get to earn lives by completing them," you explained. "T-That's why I was so desperate for that All Might autograph..."
"Woah!" He balled his hands in excitement, leaning forward as a huge smile spread across his face. "That's so cool!" Sitting up straighter, he brought one hand up to cover his mouth as he started rambling. "So, if you complete a task every day, you could end up with like a hundred lives. That would make you immortal in a way since you would just keep reviving no matter what. But if you think about it, wouldn't that mean you'd be stuck here forever?! How scary... perhaps if you..."
You stood in the middle of his room, watching him with a blank stare while he continued muttering under his breath. Am I supposed to stop him? You were about to speak up when his phone vibrated, a text notification lighting up the screen.
That was enough to pull him out of his thoughts as he read the message. "Oh, I'm sorry. I have to go." He stood up from his chair, quickly typing out a reply before slipping his phone into his pocket. "Training," he explained with an apologetic smile.
"Wait, Izuku-" you called out to him as he twisted the doorknob. "About the..."
"Don't worry," he gave you a thumbs up. "We haven't told anyone about it. Your secret is safe with us!"
Thank you Izuku!
You nodded as he cracked the door open, hesitating for a moment before asking, "Can I text you later?"
