I felt two arms wrap around my torso from behind and a chin rested on my shoulder as I was standing in front of the stove.
''Whatcha cooking?'' Her cute voice ringed in my ear and I held myself from smiling wide.
''Spaghettis.'' I answered, turning around to have her place her head on my right shoulder and her arms went under my armpits.
She always hugged me like that and I love every moment of it.
''Why are you cooking spaghettis when it's close to midnight?'' She questioned sleepily as I rubbed her back slowly with my empty hand. The other had was still holding the spatula.
''Because I know you like to eat very late night.'' I teased, remembering all the times I caught her rummaging through the fridge, searching for something to eat.
''Don't act like you don't do the same thing.'' She countered back and I laughed. I didn't pretend to be innocent.
''But seriously, a whole meal Ava? You're really outdone yourself with this one.'' She continued, roasting me and I had to grab her shoulders, pushing her back from me.
She smirked up at me since she was about two inches shorter and I responded. ''Tomorrow's our anniversary.''
I couldn't help but smile as I said that. ''So, I'm starting that day off with midnight spaghettis.''
It's been a year since we became official.
That ridiculous night after my date with someone else. The night that made her confess her feelings and the same night, were she asked me to be her girlfriend.
''I love you.'' She said and peaked my lips before smiling widely.
''I love you too.'' I leaned down to give her another peak before dismissing her out of the kitchen. ''Go get the dining table ready. Candles, plates, wine and everything.''
We finally have a dining table because I got sick of eating on the sofa only. It was small, for two people only and that's because the apartment is small; we have no space.
I got back to cooking, smiling at how life is going.
Life is great and I wish things stay like this forever.
''Here you go.'' I put the hot plate in front of her, smiling down at my girlfriend who was grinning so wide at the food.
I sat across from her and stopped her hastily before she dug in. ''Wait wait wait.''
She frowned up at me, holding the fork in her hand already. I smiled at how cute she looked.
''The clock.'' I pointed at the wall, seeing Mel's eyes stare back at the clock. There's still a minute before midnight. ''Not yet.''
I smirked at her, watching her look back and trying to look intimidating but immediately broke into a cute smile.
''You're very romantic. Not in a bad way either.'' She complimented, making my smile at her. We stared at each other lovingly, not saying a word before the clock finally hit midnight.
''After you, my queen.'' I said, watching her immediately dig in and burn her tongue in the process which made me gasp and laugh.
''Never mind, I take it back.'' She retorted, glaring at me as I continued to laugh at her. ''You're not romantic at all. Who allows their girlfriend to eat burning hot food?!''
''You can see the smoke!'' I pointed at the food, shocked at how quick she started eating. I passed her the glass of wine, doing my best to stop myself from grinning as she drank from it.
