Authors POV-:
The campus café is buzzing with the usual afternoon crowd—students sipping on coffee, chatting, and typing away on laptops. Suhani sits at a small table near the window, her books and notes spread out in front of her. She’s deep in thought, her pen tapping rhythmically against her notebook as she reviews her notes. Her focus is unwavering, driven by her determination to achieve her goals.
Just then, Veer enters the café, spotting Suhani immediately. A smirk tugs at the corner of his lips as he makes his way over to her table. He’s been thinking about the bet, confident in his ability to win her over, but he’s also aware that Suhani is different from the others—she’s not going to make it easy.
Veer: (with a casual grin) "Hey, Suhani. Mind if I join you?"
Suhani looks up, her eyes narrowing slightly as she recognizes the familiar voice. She’s been expecting this—ever since their date, she knew Veer wouldn’t just walk away. But she’s not about to let him distract her from what really matters. She closes her notebook, giving him a polite but guarded smile.
Suhani: (calmly) "If you’re looking for company, I’m not the best choice. I’ve got a lot of work to do."
Veer pulls out a chair and sits down anyway, undeterred by her reluctance. He leans forward slightly, his eyes trying to catch hers as he speaks.
Veer: (with a light chuckle) "Come on, Suhani. Everyone needs a break. You’ve been working non-stop since I saw you in the courtyard."
Suhani holds his gaze for a moment before turning her attention back to her notes. She’s determined not to let him see the effect his presence has on her. She’s heard the stories about Veer—the playboy, the guy who never sticks around—and she’s not interested in being another name on his list. She has her goals, and getting involved with someone like Veer isn’t part of the plan.
Suhani: (firmly) "I appreciate the offer, Veer, but I’m serious about my studies. I don’t have time for distractions."
Veer’s smile falters just slightly, but he quickly recovers, leaning back in his chair. He’s not used to being turned down, especially not by someone like Suhani. But the challenge only makes him more determined to win her over—after all, the bet is still on, and he’s not about to lose.
Veer: (with a playful tone) "Who said anything about distractions? I’m just here to keep you company. We could study together, you know. I’m not as useless as you might think."
Suhani’s lips twitch slightly, almost amused by his persistence, but she quickly reins it in. She knows what he’s doing, and she’s not going to let him worm his way into her life that easily. She’s seen how he operates, and she’s not about to let herself be another one of his conquests.
Suhani: (dryly) "I’m sure you’re not, Veer. But I’m fine on my own. Besides, I doubt we’re studying the same things."
Veer watches her, sensing the wall she’s built around herself. He’s used to charming his way through situations, but Suhani isn’t like the other girls—she’s focused, determined, and completely uninterested in his usual tricks. But he’s not ready to give up yet.
Veer: (sincerely) "Look, I get that you’re focused, and that’s great. But maybe it wouldn’t hurt to take a little break once in a while. You work hard—too hard, maybe. What’s wrong with having a bit of fun?"
Suhani finally looks up, meeting his gaze head-on. There’s a steely resolve in her eyes, one that tells him she’s not going to be swayed by sweet talk and flirtation.
Suhani: (coolly) "I’m not here to have fun, Veer. I’m here to achieve my goals. And right now, that means studying, working hard, and staying focused. I’m not interested in anything that could get in the way of that."
