It had been a long week to say the least. Not only was it long, but it was draining and overall bad.
You had three essays, two extra students to tutor, and you've barely seen Lynn.Since Lynn's championship game, there had been a shift in the energy between you.
You wanted to remember her championship game as a happy memory, but it was far from it for you.
For whatever reason, you felt dumb when she gave that random girl her number. You know you aren't together and she could give her number to anyone she wanted to, you know that.
But a part of you had felt that Lynn returned the feelings you felt for her. Maybe you were looking too much into it and misinterpreting everything, but you swear it always felt like more than friendship with Lynn.
You couldn't even be mad at Lynn either. You two are just friends and you had done the same thing by giving Brayden your number. Except there was a huge difference in those situations - Brayden didn't actually like you, number seven seemed to really like Lynn.
Anytime you and Lynn had managed to fit some free time in to hang out this week, which was only twice, Lynn's phone was blown up with texts from number seven.
You even learned against your own will that she actually had a name, a name that left a bad taste in your mouth, Natalie.
Everything you'd learned about her wasn't by choice. You hated not liking Natalie without knowing her just because of her shared interest in Lynn, but you couldn't help it.
Anybody else would've been able to pick up on the obvious tension and chemistry between you. From the way you looked at each other or the way you always stood in close proximity.
Natalie didn't seem to care about that, sending her friend off to ask Lynn out anyway. Lynn handing out her number made it worse to say the least.
You were under the impression there was something more between you, while Lynn made it clear to you there wasn't.
Something you didn't want to admit hurt was how different Natalie was from you. You don't know her personally, but from the little things Lynn had told you, she was completely and entirely different from you.
Her features were the opposite from yours, her personality and humor was a drastic difference to yours. She was everything you weren't, which definitely left you to doubt and question any and everything.
You weren't sure what to think and Lynn only continuously confused you further.
━━
You didn't bother listening to Lynn give number seven's teammate her number, not that Lynn would notice. The teammate insisted Lynn go talk to seven firsthand, encouraging her to come introduce herself, leaving you behind without a look back.
