She gave it a try, she closed her eyes
She didn't know how it'd feel
She just hoped that it wouldn't hurt
It almost worked

“She is waking up..”
“Seriously?! Call Kocho-san!”
[Name]'s eyes shot open, her breathing unsteady and erratic as she tried to grasp the closest figure standing to her. Unexpectedly, the figure was none other than a very confused Kanao, letting her poor friend leap onto her to her heart's content.
Her hands were shaking, letting a few heavy breaths as Kanao softly rubbed her back in a comforting manner.
“Thank god..” Kanao mumbled quietly, taking a hold of her hands and giving them a gentle squeeze. [Name] didn't even notice, since she was too lost in her own thoughts to focus on any external factors.
Kanao was mainly known for her indecisiveness, always carrying a copper coin everywhere she went. Shinobu once told [name] it was gifted to her by Kanae in the past. It was supposed to help with making decisions, and it was really helpful.
But, when with the lovely purple haired girl, it was as if all of Kanao's dilemmas dissipated. [Name] was like a miracle; her sole presence lifting the heavy burden off Kanao's back. She could breathe easily when she was with her.
In short, Kanao's beloved copper mince never had to be used when she was basking in [name]'s kindness. She really hoped the girl thought of them as friends.
“[Name]-chan?!” Shinobu exclaimed as she burst through the door, making Kanao shuffle away with a startled yelp. Her hands retracted, falling to her sides as she stood up and excused herself, leaving the two some time alone.
“Are you alright? You were asleep for two days,” she informed, sitting down close to her. Her forehead scrunched up in worry as she observed her. “Do you feel any pain whatsoever?”
[Name]'s eyes widened significantly, deep shock sprouting from within her heart at the revelation. Two whole days? All she remembers was that she was left bleeding on the ground, laying there with many corpses around.
“No.. I'm fine,” she stated after a moment of silence. Shinobu stared at her, wordless, before clearing her throat.
“The cut.. it might leave a scar,” she said, her voice holding a twinge of guilt. [Name]'s nonchalant expression didn't change at all. In fact, it looked as if she already knew about that.
“It's okay.”
She didn't want to be viewed as beautiful either way.
“[Name], are you really feeling well enough to start training?” Aoi asked, staring at her with a concerned expression. The girl merely shrugged.
