Offroad POV

It was Sunday, the day Offroad had agreed to go out with Daou and he felt like his stomach was going to come out of his throat at any given moment as he got dressed. Daou refused to tell him all that he had planned, only just that he had somehow convinced Tong the store's other overnight employee to come in earlier so Offroad could have the night off. When Offroad asked why Daou had done this all he got was a shrug and a mumbled "Cause what I want to do is late in the day". Offroad Had asked Daou how he should dress and the man had just told him normal, Offroad, however, didn't have a normal so he opted for a nice button-down and slacks. Offroad had told Daou that he would meet him at the location but Daou had thrown a sulk fest and claimed it would give away the surprise, so Offroad had reluctantly given him his address, just the building address, not his apartment number, he was quite scared the man would have shown up at his doorstep the moment he gave him his apartment number.

The butterflies in his stomach were not helping, the whole stomach was about to fall out his mouth feeling. He stood in the mirror trying like hell to get his hair just right but no matter what he did something was off about it. He was becoming more and more frustrated when his phone began to go off. He picked it up and saw that it was Daou. A part of him immediately deflated wondering if he was calling to back out.

"Hello?" Offroad answered the call.

"What's wrong?" Daou immediately asked.

"Nothing," Offroad answered, trying to hide the disappointment in his voice.

"Cheer up, I'm here," Daou said in a giddy voice before he ended the call. Offroad took a deep breath of relief that the man wasn't calling to cancel, put his phone in his pocket, grabbed his wallet and keys, and proceeded to make his way to the ground floor. Daou was very easy to find considering he had parked his car right outside the building and was leaning against it waiting. Offroad sighed in relief hoping the man was not going to bring his bike. Offroad had those things, the first and only time he had been on one his friend had almost crashed. Offroad walked out of his building giving Daou a small wave.

"Hi," Offroad greeted him.

"You look perfect," Daou smiled at him. Offroad looked down at himself and then at Daou realizing the man was wearing something similar.

"So do you," Offroad offered back.

"Thank you," Daou said, turning to open the door for Offroad. "Are you ready to go?" Offroad nodded and slid into the passenger seat as Daou shut the door. Daou ran over to his side slipping in the driver seat and pulled off after both of them buckled themselves in.

"Can you tell me now where we are going?" Offroad asked.

"Nope, it's a surprise," Daou said, smiling at him.

"I don't generally like surprises," Offroad chuckled nervously.

"You'll like this one I promise," Daou said. "You'll know it once we get closer."

Offroad sat back in the seat and looked out the window trying to see where they were going and Daou was right as they got closer to what Offroad was assuming was the location he knew.

"Seriously?" Offroad asked as Daou pulled in line to the valet parking. "This restaurant has, like, a year-long waiting list."

"A friend of mine happens to know the owner," Daou laughed as the car crept forward in the valet line.

"Lucky friend," Offroad laughed. He was genuinely excited Offroad loved food and this restaurant had been on his list to eventually make his way to. They finally made it to the end of the valet line Daou had hopped out and came around to open Offroads' door before leaving the car to the valet people. They made their way inside and Offroad stunned by how beautiful it was inside. The host quickly sat them at a small simple table. "This is beautiful," Offroad spoke out loud.
