Offroad POV
Offroad was exhausted as he walked out of his accounting job. He and Daou hadn't gotten much sleep, thankfully Daou was able to drop him off at work this morning or he would have been late. Daou had finally charged his phone last night and had been texting Offroad all day long and even FaceTime him on his lunch. His coworkers all wanted to see the person who was making him so giddy and kept popping in the break room to say hi to him and peek at Daou. After the face call ended all his coworkers wanted to ask about the bad boy he was seeing and Offroad had to laugh. Daou was a big puppy. Offroad pulled out his phone to text Daou he was on his way to the store when someone jumped in front of him. Offroad startled and jumped back looking at a very pretty boy standing in front of him. They were about the same height but the boy was lean whereas Offroad was bulky. The boy was smiling at him.
"Offroad right?" The boy asked and Offroad looked at him funny. The boy seemed familiar but he couldn't tell from where.
"Can I help you?" Offroad asked, hiking his backpack up on his shoulder.
"Yes! One second," the boy said before turning away from him and stomping over to a man who was a few feet away grabbing him by his wrist and dragging him over. Offroad judging by the bruises on this man's face and hand was the man Daou had fought with. "This is Boss,"
"Okay?" Offroad asked, looking back and forth between them. "Look I have to get to work I don't have time for this,"
"At the convenience store right?" The boy asked. "Tong said you work here as well to support your family back home,"
"What do you want?" Offroad asked with a sigh, reminding himself to yell at Tong later.
"This idiot would like to speak with you," the boy said, pulling the other man closer. Offroad made eye contact with the man and waited.
"I am Daous' best friend," the man finally said.
"Do best friends go around beating each other up?" Offroad asked, crossing his arms over his chest.
"When they need to yeah," The man sighed, rubbing the back of his head. "I fucked up, and I owe you an apology,"
"Why?" Offroad asked. "I don't know you,"
"Because White is my friend not Daous and I was the one who was on the other end of the call that day." The man sighed.
"White is the man who called me a "piece of ass" and said that "hopefully Daou finally got it so he would stop whining." That man?" Offroad asked.
"Yes, to be fair Daou has talked about you since the first day he laid eyes on you,"
"Yes that's true but he has never referred to you or anyone in such a disgusting way," The boy chimed in.
"He and White have never gotten along and I did fuck all to help," Boss said in defeat. "I got so caught up in the party, live-free, lifestyle of White that I forgot I was a grown man with responsibilities. I know what you mean to Daou,-"
"We all do," the boy smiled at him.
"Right, we all do," the man continued. "I should have put a stop to White's disgusting comments the first time and I didn't and for that I'm sorry." Offroad stood there for a minute just staring at the man.
"Daou deserves a better best friend. I hope you know that" Offroad finally spoke. The boy laughed and slid over to Offroads side wrapping his arms around Offroads one arm.
"I like him, can we keep him?" The boy asked. "I'm Noeul by the way. That one's fiancé," he said pointing to Boss.
"I don't see a ring?" Offroad asked, looking down at the boy's hands.
