Even though I pretend not to care about my plans with Taylor, it was all I could think about all day at work. I couldn't help but guess different places that she could be taking me.

I came back home earlier than usual because of Taylor. I'm really a lost cause and I think even my denial is also getting fed up with me. I'm the one who wasn't interested but still the one who's so desperate.

Taylor wasn't in the house when I got back. She said she'll be taking me out in the evening so why isn't she here?

After about two hours of waiting and she being a no show, I decided to be the bigger person and call her.

She picked up almost immediately when I called.

"Hi, ar... are you okay? I'm just calling to check up on you" I stuttered. She tried not to but I could hear her giggling on the other side.

"Yeah right? You're just worried about me, that's why you called. And not because we have plans?"

"No, of course not." I denied. Seriously, I'm just giving it all away.

"Fine Esta, whatever you say. I was actually about calling you. Can you come pick me up at home? It's almost time."

"Time for what?" I asked curiously

"It's a surprise Esta. Just come pick me up." She simply said

"What should I wear? I'm just asking because I don't want to dress over or below the occasion." I asked getting excited.

"Dress your usual self. You look beautiful in anything you wear." She said. I don't know how she does it, but she always knows the right thing to say.

I got to her house and she was already outside waiting for me. "Give me the keys, I'm driving" she says stretching forth her hand.

"Do you have a driver's licence, can you drive?" I asked

"That's an insult Esta, I'm an adult, and mind you, I'm a really good driver." She frowns, taking the keys from me.

"Oh! I'm sorry, I sometimes forget that you're a woman now"  I said

She opened her mouth in surprise. "Wow, did you just call me a woman?" She asked with an evil smirk.

"I'm regretting it already"

"So you do see me as a woman now. I'll remind you everyday." She says getting into the driver's seat.

As we drove, I kept trying to get hints about where we were going but this little woman won't budge. Finally, we arrived at our destination, Taylor parked the car and we walked the remaining way.

I was surprised when we got there. Totally mind-blowing. I would have never guessed in a thousand years.

It was a street carnival. I couldn't help but show my amazement when we got there. I haven't done this in years. Not since Maya was born.

"I would have asked you if you like my surprise but your face tells it all. You love me right now, don't you?" She teased again making me roll my eyes.

"Love is a big word Taylor. Maybe... I like you a bit. Just a tiny little bit" I said as we walked towards an area surrounded by people.

We got there and was watching the performance when I felt her hand on mine. She pulled away indecisively and just watched the performance.
