"Hey. Why are you just sitting here in the dark? Were you waiting for me?" I teased as I climbed into the bed.
She just sat down quietly "what's wrong? You okay?" I asked giving her a peck but she still won't respond.
"Stop pretending to be mad, I know what you want" I say kissing her lips but she didn't reciprocate. I didn't mind that. She's just trying to be stubborn and that's cute. I went further to kissing her neck, running my hands underneath her blouse but when I looked up to her, she was still putting on that vague expression.
"What's wrong Taylor?" I asked as I sat properly on the bed. "Are you really mad about something? Is it because of me? You know I can't tell what's going on if you won't talk to me." I tried my best but she still didn't say anything.
I held her hand and raised her chin, making her look at me before I continued. "If it's in my power, I'll fix it. Just tell me what's wrong." She looked back down trying to stop herself from crying.
I didn't know what happened to her but I knew she was really hurt. I hugged her reassuring her that everything's going to be just fine.
"I don't want to be the third wheel Esta." she mumbles hugging me back. She didn't have to say any further, I already knew where she was going with this.
"Did you go over to the house?" I asked. She didn't respond but I already know that she did "... And Maya told you?" I continued.
"Why would you do that? Marriage counseling with him? You said you didn't love him nor want him in your life anymore. So why are you trying to fix your marriage with him?" She asked freeing herself from my embrace.
"What about me? What happens to me Esta? What happens to me if you finally fix your marriage? I don't want you to get counseling. I don't want it Esta." She insisted as her voice cracks.
"I'm only doing it for Maya. I promise you, there's nothing in my heart left for him." I tried explaining
"Do you even care about me?" She asked.
"Of course, of course Taylor I care about you." I replied.
"Then don't do it. Don't go there with him again. You're mine, just be with me." She begged, wrapping her arms around my waist and looking up at me with those puppy eyes.
"Whether I attend some stupid marriage counseling with Raj or not, I don't know why you're feeling insecured about that. You don't have to feel that way about Raj. Because I promise you, my heart has already been shut to him." I reassured her but she wouldn't listen. She let out a frustrating sigh and continued.
"Then... Should be just end this?" She asked. Those words hurt me more than I ever thought was possible. What is she suggesting? "What did you say?" I asked again, hoping my ears heard wrong.
I hope she didn't just suggest that we break up. "Repeat what you said just now" I ordered, getting a bit worked up but she went completely silent.
"So you would also leave me because you're not getting what you want? You're also gonna leave?" It broke my heart that the one person I thought I had, just suggested to leave me.
"I'm not leaving. I'm just scared Esta. You do things and going on about Maya asking you to do them.
You brought him back into your life because Maya asked you to do that. You celebrated your anniversary because Maya asked you to do that. And now, you're going for couples therapy because Maya asked you to do that.
