Jasmine woke up to the smell of bacon. She walked downstairs and noticed the living room was fully furnished. She went to the kitchen confused and saw her parents making breakfast together.
"Yesterday the house was empty! Why is everything furnished now!?" Jasmin questioned. "The truck came." her mom replied. "Oh?" Jasmin said, confused. She walked to the living room and plopped onto the couch.
She scrolled on her phone for a while until her dad came and said, "We found dance classes around this area; you'll start Thursday at 10 A.M." Jasmin got excited very quickly. "Only two more days until I can start!!" Jasmin squealed. She ran to her room and started packing her ballet bag.She then went to the sink to fill up her hydro flask water bottle and plopped a couple of cubes of ice in there slowly, so it wouldn't splash or spill. She put her ballet shoes, bandaids, extra pair of tights, and some hair ties and pins in her ballet bag. Jasmin hung up the bag on a hook ready to be used.
She then changed out of her pajamas and walked downstairs to eat breakfast. She gulped down three peanut butter pancakes, 2 over easy eggs, 3 strips of turkey bacon, and a glass of cold apple juice. "You eat a lot, how are you so tiny?", her mom questioned, joking.
Jasmin just gave a smile with her mouth stuffed with food. By the time she finished eating, it was already 10 A.M. "Can I walk to the park?" Jasmin asked. "Sure, just be back by 12 and tell us when you get there, okay?" her dad said. "Okay," Jasmin replied. She got her favorite mini backpack. It was lavender with white butterfly outlines on it. She then put on a pair of beat-up, dirty white sneakers since there was dirt at the park. Jasmin walked out and turned on her location.
She started walking but it felt uncomfortable. Someone or something was watching her, intensely.
She felt disgusted and her body went cold. Scared, she walked faster, but the feeling never went away.
When she got to the park, there were other people, so she felt at least a little better, but she still had that uncomfortable feeling. She then looked at the forest, admiring how pretty the bright green leaves and the berry bushes were.
Something was off about the forest though. The leaves shook rapidly and then stopped. Jasmin saw a huge black shadow that didn't seem like any animal that has ever existed. Her eyes went wide when she saw the face of it. It had a long tongue, rows of huge and sharp teeth, small black eyes, and slimy looking goop running down its face.
Jasmin was frozen in shock, she couldn't run. Her blood went cold, her legs felt weak, and her fists squeezed tight. Then she felt a tap on her shoulder and jumped. She turned around and saw a concerned middle aged lady.
"Are you alright, honey?", the lady asked. Jasmin nodded, walking away, scared and shaken up.
Jasmin then walked back home after a little less than 2 hours and tried shaking the feeling off. She wondered why her parents decided to move here since their previous home and city was perfectly fine. Jasmin hated her new home. When she arrived home all she wanted to do was lay down.Jasmin flung off her shoes and plopped right onto the couch. She watched videos to try and forget what happened. Jasmin just figured it was just her imagination, but it felt too real.
She then remembered the car ride there. Her dad lied to her about the car hitting something. She was starting to put the pieces together.
Jasmin was unsure though, sometimes trees make weird shapes and the wind made them move.
Jasmin stayed home for the rest of the day because it was summer break and there was no school. After a while, her parents put together her bed and Jasmin jumped right onto it, happily. She put the blanket over her body and just stared at the ceiling, thinking. She wasn't thinking about anything specific, just thoughts.
