______________________________Third Person's POV
Cally woke up earlier than her usual time, feeling the weight of exhaustion and worry pressing heavily on her. She had spent the entire night by Macey's side, holding her hand and silently pleading for her recovery. Cally had made sure that Macey had eaten her dinner and taken her medicine, but she couldn't be certain if Macey would remember any of it. The uncertainty and fear clouded Cally's thoughts as she gazed at Macey, who remained unaware of her surroundings.
Cally kisses Macey's forehead before she prepares everything for Macey. She made Macey's favorite food together with the medicines that she needed. When everything is settled, she fixes her stuff and cleans up for work. Macey is still in a deep slumber when she finishes doing everything.
"You are still beautiful and stunning, Macey. Get well sooner, please." She whispered and kissed Macey's forehead. "I need to go now, everything you need is in the kitchen." She said and kissed her hand before leaving their house.
When Cally was about to close their door, she saw Miri waiting at their doorstep holding newspapers.
"Hey, kid, what are you doing here?" Cally asked the kid.
Miri looked at her with a sad aura."I'm waiting for Unnie. This newspaper is for her." She said embracing the newspaper.
Cally looked at her not convinced by the kid."Macey is not feeling well. Don't wait for her. You may leave now." She said.
Miri looked sad. "I want to see her." She said without looking at Cally.
"No, go home now, kid, and don't come back," Cally said and walked away.
Miri remained standing at their doorstep watching Cally walk away. "You should be grateful instead." She said.
Two hours had passed and it was eight in the morning. Macey woke up from a deep and peaceful sleep.
When she opened her eyes, she slowly got up from her bed, looking at the window. She saw sun rays penetrate her room. She looked at the clock and remembered Cally.
"Cally, she has work today." She said, roaming her eyes around, but there was no sign of Cally everywhere. She went downstairs hoping to see her but she saw nothing.
"Was it all a dream? I thought she took care of me." She said walking to the kitchen. She saw the food on the table and the medicines. "I guess it wasn't a dream after all." She said smiling. "Wow, my favorite food." She said and tasted the food. "She could've been a great cook," Macey was amazed by the taste of the food prepared by Cally. "I thought she doesn't care about me anymore." She becomes emotional and about to cry when someone buzzes the doorbell.
"Who could this be?" She asked herself and went to the door and opened it.
"Good morning, Macey!" Jaina, her closest friend, greeted her.
"Jaina!" Macey exclaimed and hugged her friend. For almost six months, they didn't see each other. "Come in." She invited.
Jaina went inside the house roaming her eyes around. "It's been a while. How was everything here?" She asked Macey while walking towards the dining area.
Macey and Jaina settled themselves. Macey offered some of her food to Jaina. "Well, everything is great, as usual," Macey answered. "Here, eat some food. You want coffee?" She asked Jaina.
Jaina looked at her before saying, "No, I already ate breakfast." She held Macey's hand. "Tell me the truth, Macey." She said without any doubt.
Macey was taken aback. "What are you saying, Jaina?" She said chuckling.
Jaina sighed. "Macey, we've been friends for a very long time now. I know you to the point that when I look into your eyes, I can see what's going on with you." She said and Macey fell into silence.
"I don't know, Jaina." Macey softly said and clenched her fist.
Jaina carefully observed her. "It's about Cally, am I right?" She asked.
Macey didn't say anything for a while, but tears fell from her eyes until she managed to say, "I don't know what happened. Suddenly, she becomes someone I don't know."
"I assumed, your relationship became cold and dry. And she's not doing the things she used to do before. Am I correct?" Jaina asked and Macey nodded in response.
"Have you tried to talk about it?" She asked.Macey lifts her head and looks at her. "Not yet and I don't want to open this to her. I'm scared." She said.
"You're scared to know the truth? You're scared that she's having an affair with another girl?" Jaina directly asked
Macey can't take her words. Her tears fell as she thought about what Jaina said.
"I don't know what to do if she's with another girl. I can't afford to lose her, Jaina." She confessed.
"When did Cally's behavior change?" Jaina asked.
"When she found out the truth about me," Macey answered.
Jaina thinks for a while. "Do you think it is because of what she learned that her behavior changed?"
"What do you mean?" Macey asked.
"It could be that when she found out the truth, she fell out of love with you and found another woman that's why she's acting like this towards you. She wanted you to let her go." Jaina explained that made Macey cry even more.
"I can't lose her, Jaina. What should I do? I can't change the truth." Macey stated.
"And you can't change her heart if she's starting to fall out of love with you," Jaina said. "But we're not sure about it as of now. Everything I say is based on my assumptions. We don't have any evidence to prove me right."
"What should I do now?" Macey asked.
"The first thing you should do is to open this matter to her. Your concern and why is she acting like this towards you? And then observe her behavior and check her stuff even her phone. Those are the things you should do as of the moment." Jaina said.
"I don't know if I can do that," Macey said.
"You should do it. I will help you." Jaina said.
"I'll think about it," Macey said and they spent the day talking about anything under the sun.
"Hello, yes, I convinced her to talk with Cally. Don't worry, we will know the truth behind this. Cally will pay if we prove that she's having an affair." Jaina said over the phone.
