____________________________Third Person's POV
"MACEY!!!"
In the middle of the night, a piercing scream shattered the peaceful time of resting. It was Cally, her voice filled with urgency, calling out the name of her girlfriend, Macey.
As she awoke, she found herself gasping for breath, her body drenched in sweat. The look of fear was etched on her face as she clutched her head as if battling a pounding headache
"It was a dream, right?" She asked herself and was about to cry when someone held her hand.
"Cally..."
She turned her head towards the sound of the voice, and her heartbeat quickened in astonishment. "M-Macey?" she stuttered, her voice filled with surprise.
Macey gently inquired, "What happened? Did you have a bad dream?" as she reached out and tenderly squeezed her girlfriend's hand in a comforting gesture.
"Macey..." Cally whispered and tears streamed down her face. "You're here." She said and held the latter's face.
Macey touched her hands and said, "I'm here, Cally. What's the problem?"
"I thought you were gone." Cally sobbed.
Macey wrapped her arms around her tightly, pressing her close against her. "That was just a dream, okay?" she murmured. "I'm here, alive and healthy."
Cally embraced Macey tightly, feeling a flood of emotions as tears streamed down her cheeks. "I thought it was real. Everything feels so vivid and genuine," she sobbed.
"Stop crying, Cally. I won't leave you, okay?" Macey whispered as she gently caressed Cally's back.
Cally remained silent, gently nestling herself into Macey's embrace until she eventually drifted off to sleep once more. Before drifting to slumber herself, Macey tenderly kissed Cally's forehead, expressing a deep affection for her sleeping companion.
A few hours passed and the sun was already shining. Cally woke up again and roam her eyes around.
"So, it was all a dream after all." She whispered to herself and closed her eyes again.
"Cally..."
She quickly looked in the direction where the voice came from. "Macey?" She asked looking at the woman in front of her.
Macey laughed because it was the exact scenario a while ago. "Yes, for the second time, it's me. And I'm here to tell you that the food is ready. Come and have breakfast with me." She said walking towards Cally.
Cally stared at Macey and smiled widely. "I thought I wouldn't see an angel again." She said.
"I told you, that was just a dream. Stand up and let's eat." Macey said and pulled Cally up.
As they walked down the stairs, Cally caught sight of the shirt Macey was wearing. It was the one she had given her for her last birthday. The design on the shirt featured a baby cub embracing a baby penguin. Cally couldn't help but remark, "Oh, you're wearing that shirt again, huh?"
"Of course, you gave it to me," Macey said. "But, it was my first time wearing it."
"Is that so? I thought you already wore that before." Cally answered.
"Are you sure you saw me wearing this shirt? It might have been my other shirt that looks similar in color," Macey expressed
"Yeah, maybe you're right," Cally said and took her seat. She was watching Macey as she prepared the utensils.
Unfortunately, while reaching for the table, Macey accidentally knocked over her glass. Cally, who was sitting across from Macey, noticed the glass teetering on the edge of the table, just above Macey's exposed foot. Reacting quickly, Cally reached out and caught the falling glass just before it could hit Macey's foot.
"Wow, your reflexes are quite good, huh," Macey said laughing.
"Gut feeling." Cally simply answered. "Take your seat and let's eat." She added and they started to munch on their breakfast.
While they were eating their food, Cally noticed the dishes. "Wow, it's your first time cooking this viand and it tastes so good." She said, amazed at the taste of the food.
Macey smiled and said, "You know what's the name of that dish?" She asked.
Cally didn't know the answer so she just said, "Share it." And giggled.
"Well, it's called, Pacham." Macey proudly said. "Pacham for Pacham-" She didn't finish her words because Cally did.
"Pachamba-chamba" Cally interrupted and laughed.
Macey was surprised that Cally knew the meaning. "How did you know that?" She asked.
"You said it already," Cally said.
"Did I? I never mentioned to you that term before." Macey explained.
"Are you sure? Deja Vu. I thought you already mentioned that to me when we last ate breakfast together." Cally said feeling confused.
"Maybe, but I can't remember," Macey said and giggled.
"Deja vu it is," Cally said and continued to dig in.
After enjoying a hearty breakfast together, Cally took the time to get ready for work as she still had to head to the office.
"What time are you going home?" Macey asked while fixing the stuff of Cally.
"Oh, as usual, seven in the evening. I'll have an overtime later." Cally answered and she sensed the sad aura of her girl. "What's the matter, Macey?" She asked.
Macey just smiled and said, "Nothing, just go home later, alright?"
"Of course, I will," Cally said and walked out of the door.
As she stepped out of the front door, Macey felt the weight of sorrow and worry settling in her chest, making each step heavier than the last. Cally wasn't like this before. She is not what she used to be.
As Cally made her way to the bus terminal, she enjoyed the tranquility of the city streets. Suddenly, a bicycle rider appeared out of nowhere and began speeding directly toward her. In a split-second reaction, she managed to sidestep the oncoming rider and narrowly avoided a collision.
As she made her way down the street, she exclaimed, "Hey! Please watch your way!" She shouted and was about to continue her walk when she collided with a kid who was holding an open can of paint and it spilled on her clothes.
"Yah! Look at what you did!" She exclaimed without looking at the kid. "I still have work today! Damn it!" She hissed.
"I didn't notice you." The kid said looking at the paint on Cally's clothes.
Because of anger, Cally furiously looked at the kid and pulled the kid's collar. "Didn't notice me? What the hell, kid!" She exclaimed.
The kid didn't respond. She just looked at Cally and smiled. "Why are you smiling-" Cally didn't finish her words. She looked directly at the kid's eyes and suddenly let go of her.
"Y-you... I saw you before." Cally said and she felt a sudden headache. "Ahhh!!!" She yelled holding her head in pain.
