wooyoung was raised as a christian.

despite being surrounded by jesus portraits and crucifixes on the walls at all times, as well as being pushed to attend church every sunday with his siblings, wooyoung discovered in sixth grade that he was, in fact, an atheist.

but he'd always wondered—if he was so deeply engrossed in religion that he almost knew the entire bible by heart, why did he end up this way? why didn't he have faith, and what convinced him that this religion wasn't for him?

for years, wooyoung never had the answer, and he'd eventually given up on searching for one. but now, he knew.

he was an atheist because he knew that if there was a god, they would not have put him on this planet, being fully aware that he had proven to be useless to society. he had spent the entire night proving his worthlessness by writing a list of the benefits and drawbacks of telling san the truth, failed to reach a conclusion, and then resorted to stress eating, devouring at least three slices of cheesecake and an ice cream tub before returning to his list and working on it for another few hours, which dragged on until around 3 a.m.

how did that make him useless, and not productive or hardworking? it was the fact that he had pulled through for almost 7 hours just to reach one conclusion: he still didn't know what to do.

it was 7 a.m. on a saturday, and wooyoung sat still in a dark room, in front of his laptop screen, composed and unwavering on his bed, with 50 shades of dark circles under his eyes.

at the very least, his 7 hours were not completely wasted—wooyoung had successfully developed a few theories to support both yeosang's advice (not to tell san) and jongho's advice (tell san). now, if only he could activate all of his dormant brain cells and come up with a quick solution...

to support yeosang, wooyoung needed to assess his own morals and dignity. was gossip bad? yes. did wooyoung know that? yes. did he want to acknowledge it? no. could he help himself, despite knowing that it was a bad thing to do, and despite the fact that he was a generally kind person? definitely not.

but, did choi san deserve this? did his former dean deserve this?

both fell victim to the gossip queen, and this was only because they both made the grave mistake of committing gossip-worthy crimes in front of people who knew wooyoung and would undoubtedly tell him, or in front of wooyoung himself.

of course, the guilt over the dean's dismissal caused wooyoung to go into a slump. he was a gossiper by nature, but he had always assumed it was a harmless habit. his unhinged tongue had never caused anyone to lose their job before. but... did the dean deserve this?

well, he was a 62-year-old man pursuing a romantic relationship with a foundation student who was only seventeen at the time. even an axe murderer could tell you that wooyoung was justified in this case.

and, did choi san deserve it?

wooyoung felt conflicted about this one. being a 'two-timing jerk' was clearly not something a good person would do, but san had done far too many good things to be considered a bad person. then again, that was the same excuse people used for most criminals.
