Morning broke and due to last night's activities shall we say, I had forgotten to close the curtains. Oh god, I hope the neighbours didn't see anything, for the last thing I need, is for my dad to find out about me in bed with Tommy, especially Tommy. The sun was warm on my face, as I fluttered open my eyes, I felt warmth against my naked body, as I slowly looked up to see a familiar face, a face that wasn't harsh looking and had no anger written upon his face, but infact was peaceful, peaceful like the dead, like he had waited for this day all his life, to be able to sleep soundly, for the first time in years. I felt his arm, still protectively wrapped around me, as I just lay there listening to the beating sound of his heart, as I stared out of the window, watching the pigeons, on the neighbours roof.
I was scared to move at first, scared incase I woke him up and he got the fright of his life or something and he realises what he had done and that he thought it was all a mistake. For something as big, as what we both committed too last night, is such a big deal for me, for any woman in fact, to put your trust in a man, that when they have made love to you, they won't just use you for a one night fling, or treat you like nothing after it's over. I knew I couldn't lie in bed all day, even if I wanted too, even if I felt as though right at this moment, I was in heaven and I didn't want too leave, but I knew I had too.
I slowly pulled the covers from off me and gently scooped myself out of his sleepy embrace, he stirred slightly, but not enough to wake himself up. I then, tiptoed over to grab my dressing gown and put it on me, to protect my bare body from the morning chill in the air. I then, went over to the mirror and took a look at myself, fixing my hair and smoothing it down with my hands, for if I was to bump into my dad or Jimmy, they would have thought, I was wrestling in my sleep all night. The sun shining on it made it look like my hair was a light with fire, as it captured the red essence of it perfectly. After that, I crept over to the bedroom door and opened it, placing my hand on the door frame, as I pulled on the handle to stop it from making any noise. I quickly looked back, to see if it had disturbed Tommy, but he just rolled over onto his side facing the window, the sun shone on him, making him look like an angel sent from heaven above, shame that's not the truth though is it.
I quickly went to dad and Jimmy's room's, trying my best, to not make the floorboards creek, underneath my feet. After checking both rooms, I sighed to myself, as I wrapped my dressing gown tighter around me, they weren't home yet. I quickly checked downstairs incase they had gotten up early, but the house was in complete darkness, expect for the reflection of the morning sun, peering through the front window and shining like a spotlight, on the boring brown floorboards. Just as I was about to go back upstairs, I heard movment on the landing and then, a figure was standing at the top of the stairs. I stood there hesitant at first, not knowing what to say or do. Tommy broke the ice first, as he came down the stairs.
"Morning". He sleepily whispered. He got to the last step on the stairs and was towering over me, more than ever before now, as I was stood at the foot of the stairs. He was standing there in his vest, with his trousers and braces gun holster on. He must have put, at least some clothes on, incase anyone else was home. We both just stood there, staring at each other for a moment, I think we were both possibly, trying to find the right words, to say to each other. "Morning". Was all I replied back with, with a small smile to follow, before silence fell upon us both again, as though we were some love sick teenagers, trying to have our first kiss or something, but neither of us knew what to do or say. My heart was hammering in my chest, one of us is going to have to start talking, especially about the events that occurred last night, so decided I would.
"Tommy about last night...". I wasn't even finished, before he cut me off. "Well, it looks like we've got the whole place to ourselves, do you want a cuppa?". Was all he replied with, as he fished a cigarette, from out his trouser pocket and stuck it in his mouth, as he brushed past me and made his way into the kitchen. I just followed him like a lost puppy, I knew it, I knew he was either regretting what had happened or he was just using me, for his guilty pleasure, because he couldn't go and see Grace.
