Rosalin's Point of View
Among the things Seid requested of me, was the wish that this country would accept the return of the children of Morset. Not as necromancers, but as children of Morset. Of course, defeating the darkness is important, but without a solid plan, then even if the children of Morset no longer go insane, then they'll still be killed regardless.
But getting something like that changed is near impossible, when I myself am a necromancer. Of course killing the darkness will make a difference, but something scary killing something scary, doesn't really make the killer that much less scary.
Basically, I don't have enough media influence, social power or social standing to change it. To make a change that big, you'd basically need the king or queen themselves to make the change, but neither Claudius or Mia would make the change for me, and I can't really trust any of them either.
I'm not really in a place to negotiate with someone that already has power to begin with...
But there's someone here that I can negotiate with. Someone with the social standing and influence needed, who's in desperate need of any power they can grasp.
I look down at the maid uniform I changed into, which I got the first day here at Avenfort, and then peek into the kitchen. The biggest issue, is meeting with said person, as said person is currently in isolation. But no matter whether or not a person is in isolation or not, they still need to eat. If Claudius still has the restriction in place, then it's possible, that I as a maid could get by the rule, by basically transporting the food. That's the plan... and it's about dinner time too... but it really looks a bit suspicious for me to hang around near the kitchen like this, doesn't it?
I sigh softly, and spot one of the maids talking with one of Henrietta's burgundy knights. I hadn't really noticed before, but since the maid is standing right next to the knight, it becomes sort of obvious that they're matching. The maid's ribbon and the knight's cape.
I peer curiously at the other maids, and find multiple different colors of ribbons, most matching that of the lords... well... except for Troyfort's green color.
Johannes... it can't be that you don't know how to treat your servants either?
I glance back to the maid who was talking with the knight, and see her nodding at the knights words, before turning towards the kitchen again, and our eyes meet. Her surprise is visible. Kind of like a cat surprised to find you looking at them, and starting a staring contest. She sucks in her lower lip a bit, and the corners of her mouth curl up, like a playful cat.
I look away, shifting away as I feel like I've been caught. Just stay quiet. I just have to find a way to convince them to let me go down with the food to the prince-
"Aaa~ Do I really have to go down to the first prince again today? There's so many stairs down there. My legs are all sore. Anyone else want to do it today?"
Eh?
"I can do it." I raise a hand quickly, looking at the burgundy maid smiling at me with this eerie knowing smile, as she picks up a tray with a plate of food and a cup of water and practically pushes it into my hands.
"Thank you Rosalin, you're a lifesaver! You know where the door to the dungeon is, right?"
I nod hesitantly as I take the tray, still not quite sure how this went so easily, but at the same time feeling like I willingly walked into a trap. But even if I did, do I have the luxury of not taking it? The only way down there otherwise, would be to attack the guards, who have done absolutely nothing cruel or hostile to me.
