"Swear to me that we'll never part?"

Yuuhime giggled and kissed Xuan's cheek.

"Of course, silly."

And yet, it was like that promise didn't even matter to everyone else.

'It will continue to matter to me.' Yuuhime decided.

She stared at the dirty wall in front of her, her hands trapped with cold anti-Esper chains. So, the Shadow Decree got her. So what? There would be nothing they could do once she got out of there and found her Xuan.

Her eyes glued on the wall, she didn't react when someone entered. They didn't deserve her attention.

She only reacted when their hand grabbed her hair roughly.

"Hello, Yuuhime," Yun said, a dark grin on his face, "It's been a while."

Apart from his taller height and hairier monkey body, he looked more tired, but also more crazed. His eyes examined her before pulling her up to his face.

"I've waited for this moment for years, you know." He said as he traced her nose, his breath stunk like a skunk. "I've waited to make you scream for eleven long, grueling years."

His long nails left a bloody indent on her nose. He grabbed her chains and dragged her out, making sure to dramatically pull them to make her life harder.

'Alright, I'm out now,' she thought to herself, 'now to escape.'

She kept an eye on her surroundings. Perhaps someone with a key could be of use, or she could just start attacking.

But no one with a key came, and she knew that she probably wouldn't be able to take on all the Espers around her by herself in these chains. She would have at least tried, if not for the fact that she was already pulled into a dark room with one bright light that highlighted a table. It smelt of chemicals, and possibly even blood, but that could also be her already bloodied nose.

"If you get on the table nicely, I'll be gentle." Yun said as he pushed Yuuhime onto the table, securing her limbs. "Just kidding!"

After spitting some things she wouldn't want her kids to hear, she watched as someone came up to her side and pulled up her shirt to reveal her stomach.

"This will be so fun!" Kara laughed as she poked away at her stomach.

"Don't spill too much blood," Anesidora said with as much excitement, "I want to inspect every inch of her!"

"Don't spill any," Nichole hissed, "Tang Yun already made a mess on her face."

"Speaking of you, Tang Yun, get lost! We have work to do."

Yuuhime was glad that he left, but was immediately reminded of her situation as a breathing mask was forcefully pushed over her mouth.

"Just go to sleep now~"

"You'll be awake again in no time."

Yuuhime once again felt her senses going numb, and soon, she was out cold again.

***

"Guess who!"

Xuan laughed, rubbing Yuuhime's cold hands that were over his eyes.

"It's you, Yuuhime!"

***

"Guess who?"

Xuan's breath hitched. He tried to flinch away but his arms and legs bound him to a chair.

"What am I doing here?" Xuan asked. Yun was the first person that had came for almost an hour, ever since he was first placed in there. Xuan was seated in a relatively empty room, a window into a room right in front of him that looked like it held miramon at some point.

"Just wait, and see," Yun said, "she's almost ready."

Xuan wanted to ask who, but Yun removed his hands and left.

A few long minutes past before someone else came in. Chu Yao walked in and stood above Xuan, his deep and unfeeling eyes stared down at him.

"You have Esper born children?" He asked. Xuan bit his tongue to prevent a reaction.

"No." He lied.

"Pity you resort to lying. You brought this upon yourself."

Chu Yao stepped back and Xuan felt someone press something against his head. "Move and I'll shoot."

As this happened, Yuuhime was pushed into the room before Xuan. The panic only set in as Yun walked in after her, holding his staff up before crashing it down on her head.

***

"I'm sorry, Xuan..."

"Don't apologize."

He gave Yuuhime a soft kiss on her forehead.

***

Yuuhime couldn't let him win.

Yun stood above her, scowling in confusion as she sat up and gave a glare. She could feel her blood loss catching up to her, sticking to her face and fingers like it belonged there.

"You...!" Yun took many deep breathes. "You always did manage to boomerang back."

"I won't give you what you want." she said coldly.

"You don't have to."

Before she could even question what that meant, he lunged at her and scratched her face with his long nails. She wanted to lunge back but she could only pathetically kick away and yell.

Suddenly, a loud noise erupted from the corners.

"Tang Yun, stop."

And he did, pulling away and staring at the mirror that Yuuhime hadn't noticed before.

***

"I don't really hate anyone."

"Not even your brother?"

"No, I guess not!"

***

Xuan wasn't used to red hot rage. He had only felt it a couple times in his life.

If he could move, he would. But dying before he could even apologize to his Yuuhime and his kids for putting them though this was possibly the cruelest thing he could do. He had to keep living.

But Yun made it hard for Xuan to keep his cool. Watching him bloody Yuuhime made him yell in agony for her.

It felt like an angel send when Chu Yao grabbed a speaker and said, "Tang Yun, stop."

The choked sobbing that came from Xuan was now the only sound; No more cracking of bones or flesh, no more pained grunts, and most definitely no more laughs of pleasure.

"Are you willing to speak now?" Chu Yao said cooly. "Or will we have to dig deeper into you?"

***

"Oh! For a moment, I thought you were someone else, sunflower!"

"Aha! Who else could I be, my dear?"
