wei wuxian's behavior was so obedient that even lan qiren felt odd.wei wuxian was back in the classes but much to everyone's surprise, he attended all of the old master lan's lectures without creating any mischief.
even the old man was puzzled at such an obedient act of the male. wei wuxian didn't play any tricks or try to break any sort of rules. and thus, lan qiren had no reason to punish the boy.
this sudden shut down of the mischievous nature of wei wuxian, had almost every disciple of his age confused and concerned. the more worried being jiang cheng.
right now, sitting behind his brother, wei wuxian obediently focused on the provided scrolls as lan qiren proceeded with the day's lecture.
although, he was already familiar with all the lectures and the rules of the gusu lan sect, wei wuxian still pretended to focus on the lecture and not create any sort of problems. with such acts, even lan qiren didn't target him this time like how usually the old man had done to him before.
sitting silently, with his eyes focused on the contents in the scroll, wei wuxian was very well aware of his surroundings. he could clearly hear what was going on in everyone's mind. the whisper-like voices falling over his ears every two seconds.
'this is so boring. wait- why from this angle old master lan looks like a kangaroo?'
'one hundred and thirty-two... one hundred and thirty-three... some one shut this old man up please-!'
'when is this gonna end- it's hell.'
other thoughts that followed afterwards were somewhat about him.
'wei-gongzi was so energetic and mischievous in the start. what happened now?'
'wei wuxian turned so dull all of a sudden. the lectures are even more boring.'
and so on...
most of the voices he couldn't even recognize. except for a few.
'why wei-xiong is acting so dull and silent? he's been like this since he passed out in the open that day. i wonder what really happened to him.' nie huaisang sat right behind him. as expected, his voice held evident concern for his best friend.
wei wuxian shifted a little in his seat when jiang cheng's thoughts penetrated his mind.
'he's too silent. he was always cheerful and creating a scene. what happened now? something is seriously wrong with him. i need to figure it out.'
wei wuxian sighed, his eyes sneaking a glance at jiang cheng, sitting in front of him. the younger male looked as if he was focusing on what the old man was saying but wei wuxian knew it was the complete opposite.
but jiang cheng wasn't the only one being pretentious.
'wei ying...'
wei wuxian curled his fingers inward, clutching the fabric of his robes tightly as he forced himself to not look in the direction of the male whose thoughts suddenly intervened his senses of hearing.
he could clearly feel lan wangji's eyes on him but he forced himself to keep his eyes fixed down on the scrolls.
'wei ying is acting differently. is he not feeling good? i miss his mischief.'
wei wuxian gulped, finally casting a glance in the direction of the youngest jade seated in the front.
lan wangji sat with his posture straight and staring ahead with his cold facade on.
