jiang cheng moved around the room which was already a mess with papers and sheets thrown everywhere on the floor.he fished around the pile of books at the corner with an irritated frown etched on his forehead as he continued to search for his mother's lotus charity bell.
❛where did i put it?❜ he has been searching for it for almost two hours now. on top of that, wei wuxian hadn't returned either which was worrying him also.
jiang cheng huffed as he stood with his hands resting on the side of his hips as he looked at the mess of the room which he made by trying to search for the bell.
he let out an exaggerated sigh upon the realization that he had to clean up afterwards as well.
❛where the fuck is wei wuxian now? he said he was going for a walk? did he got lost or what?!❜ he muttered to himself, grabbing the sheet on the bed and flinging it up and down but there was nothing on the bed.
as he threw the sheet back on the bed, a knock on the door was heard.
with his eyes still looking around his surroundings to catch the glimpse of his bell, he opened the door and spoke without even looking at the person.
jiang cheng, ❛wei wuxian, i will deal with you later. first help me find my lotus charity bell. i can't seem to find it. if a-niang found out i lost it, she'd kill me. so better help me look for it.❜
he ranted on when a familiar voice called for him, making him pause in his tracks.
❛jiang-gongzi.❜
it was lan xichen.
jiang cheng gulped as he immediately turned around and finally casted a clear glance at the elder jade that stood still at the door entrance, looking at him with a soft smile.
jiang cheng widened his eyes as he realized his mistake—and the state of his room.
lan xichen glanced around the messy room but didn't say anything, his smile not even wavering for a bit.
yet, jiang cheng was completely embarrassed.
he immediately spoke, ❛zewu-jun, i am sorry. i thought you were wei wuxian and i-❜
lan xichen chuckled softly and spoke, ❛it's okay, jiang-gongzi. it happens.❜ he looked around the room awkwardly before continuing, ❛and it's my fault. i shouldn't have come uninformed.❜
jiang cheng shook his head as he stepped forward but because of all the mess on the floor, his foot got entangled in one of his robes, making him lose his balance and fall forward.
jiang cheng sucked in a breath and shut his eyes tightly, preparing himself for the hard fall but instead he felt strong arms being wrapped around his frame and a hit of warm breath against his face.
when he slowly opened his eyes, he found himself in the arms of the elder jade who held him securely—his arm tightly wrapped around jiang cheng's waist—their faces barely inches apart.
being this close, jiang cheng could easily make an outline of his own reflection in lan xichen's eyes. the color of xichen's eyes wasn't light like lan wangji, instead they were a dark shade of honey contrasting with the light shade of hazel.
jiang cheng found himself staring into those mesmerizing eyes, completely losing himself before the realization hit them. the intimate position making both the males turn a bright shade of crimson as they slowly pulled back.
lan xichen looked rather composed even though, internally, his heart was thumping loudly against his chest.
whereas, jiang cheng was completely red from face to down to the neck. he patted down his lilac robes, avoiding eye contact with lan xichen.
