Serena's POV
Hey guys! My name's Serena Yvonne and I am 18 years old. I am a famous Instagram influencer with millions of subscribers on my YouTube channel. Fashion is my passion and I'll give it my everything. I live with my single mother, who owns a chain of hotels and is super rich. We constantly argue about my career because I want to go to the fashion college in Paris, while my mom wants me to take over the family business.
I received an acceptance letter from that fashion college last week. I know my mom won't approve of it, but I can go regardless of my mom's opinion cause, hey, I am 18, remember? Anyway...
I was getting ready for today's yacht party in my room when suddenly my mom barged in with an envelope in her hand. Not just any envelope — it was my acceptance letter. Holy moly! My eyes widened. Oh God, not now, I thought.
"What is this, Serena? You applied to a fashion college without asking me even once? I am not paying for this!" she said, glaring at me through the mirror.
I turned around and replied, "I don't want you to pay for this; I just want you to understand that fashion is my passion, and I want to pursue it. Why can't you see that, Mom?"
She hissed back, "Serena, fashion can be a hobby or a side passion, but it can never be a career. You should focus on more useful things than that."
And that was it!
I stood up and stormed out of my room, into my car, and drove straight to the yacht party.A few minutes later, I arrived at the venue. I climbed out of the car and handed the keys to my driver, saying, "Please take my car home. The party will end tomorrow morning. When I call, come pick me up. Got it, Sam?"
"Sure, Serena. Please let me know if there's any problem," he replied.
"Yeah, sure," I said with a reassuring smile as I walked inside.
As I made my way in, I spotted Calem, my boyfriend. I waved at him, and he smiled and came over. 5 minutes into the party he pulled me into a corner of the yacht. After making sure no one was around, he said, "Serena, I think we need to end things between us." I stared at him in disbelief. "What the hell are you talking about? You're breaking up with me? But why?" I asked.
He hesitated for a moment."Because you are too... um, basic for me. I don't feel the sparks anymore," he said.
I was furious. Just yesterday, he was on his knees telling me I was his world, and now he says I am basic!? In a fit of rage, I grabbed a tray from a nearby table and threw it in his face. Now he should feel the sparks he was missing!
As I was walking out of the yacht, I bumped into a waiter carrying a tray. And Oh no! There was a bowl of spaghetti sauce on the tray, and it spilled all over my dress. Ewww! I exclaimed. "Watch where you're going, dude! You've stained my skirt!"
The waiter looked at me, "You were the one who bumped into me Miss Button eyes," dropped some money in my hand, and continued, "Take this and go to the dry cleaner." Then he turned around and walked away. I was livid.
What does this guy think of himself? I thought as I stepped outside. What a jerk!Luckily, the yacht hadn't left the dork yet. I called my driver, Sam, and went back home.
Oh God, today was just too much.
